Do let them forget me, for my existence deserves a place better than their memories.
Even though my mind knows it's best to move on, my heart is still hanging on. Hanging on to you and everything I knew, although all you were giving me was pain. Why is it so hard to let go of someone you know is not good for you? We often prefer familiarity, no matter how unhealthy, over uncertainty. We're afraid to walk away, because we think we'll end up alone. We're afraid of being alone and feeling lonely, despite the fact that we felt much lonelier in our relationship and in fact, we were always alone. We settle for less, even though in our heart we know we deserve more. When we realize this, we can take the first step in moving on. We'll never feel more lonely than in an unloving relationship.

Nobody fights over something that doesn’t matter — they just walk away.
— R.S. Grey , Anything You Can Do
All I know is that I want to quit you, I want to quit this game, but then I see your face and all my logic goes out the window. I see your smile and all my strength leaves my body. I wish I knew how to quit you. If I could, I would.

Don't expect me to wait Don't expect me to yearn I can't be your second choice I won't be here in the morning
I'm a fucking priority
You taught me hunger and thirst,
You taught me yearning,
I am not fond of you,
I am famished and parched for you.
I believe there’s that thread,
Tying me to you.
I know not its intentions,
Yet if I could I’d engrave it all in silver…
All so I could keep it from breaking.
My soul had sought a home in you,
Yet I doubt yours even recognised me.
I have never tasted anything as divine as your soul…
Why do I associate you with food and drink?
I’ve been starving since I was a teenager,
I’d never felt lust for food,
You taught me hunger and thirst,
You taught me yearning…
In every language I’ll never be fluent in.
I am not fond of you.
I am famished and parched for you.
