Anxieties for the future
officially sent my first few resumes... let’s see if I can get a job for next year!
On leaving uni
Nothing really prepares you for the feeling you get when you leave uni and your friends.
Nothing really prepares you for the feeling that washes over you the next morning when you wake up and realise that 4 years of studying are over and you're pretty much considered as an adult in every way.
Nothing really prepares you for the feeling that you seem to have left home for the second time.
Nothing really prepares you for knowing that, even though life is carrying on in the place you just left, your life seems to have stopped without it.
All you can do is throw yourself into the life you have now. Do what you enjoy. Read, sing, play music, catch up with friends you haven’t seen in ages, keep in contact with those you've just left, go for a walk, write.
Look forward to any new things life may throw at you now. It’s terrifying, I know that. But look forward to it. It’ll be fine.
Everything is set and done. I literally feel everything all at once. But it feels so good.
I’m really nervous! But this is it, life on my own terms starts today!
Tomorrow is a big day. Visiting campus off schedule to see the councelor lady. Things are about to happen.
I feel like tommorow is the beginning of something new. I might get a really important email... Yeah basically, all of next week is going to be very interesting.
Reading articles and interviews with people who have made the same decision, and I can see myself in everything they say. It feels good to know I’m not alone in this.
