This came up in my memories and I realized I don't think I've uploaded it here.

leeli wingfeather is wonderful. andrew peterson did such a great job crafting her, i mean she's just so awesome. she's just such a good character.

Project Hail Mary will Not escape my crossovers statement I just had the extremely funny scenario pop into my head of Ryland Grace encountering the Wingfeather Falls children and all their friends.

So imagine there's like some sort of ball or event going on at Castle Rysen (I headcanon that ever year they have a massive celebration on the date the war ended) so EVERYONE is there, the three Wingfeather kiddos, Sara, Maraly, Mabel, Dipper, possibly Pacifica depending on when this is. And it's gotten late and Kalmar has gotten bored, so he's dragged all his friends off somewhere and they find a secret passage in the castle (as one does) and when they open the door on the other end-

-they are on a beach. But it is not Anniera's beach. No, they have wandered through a portal into Ryland Grace's biodome on Erid.

Anyway, the Wingfeather kidlets immediately clock that this isn't Anniera, Kalmar spots Grace's house and immediately decides to run over and say hello. The other kids, a mix of exasperated, fond, confused, amused, and worried, run after him, but Maraly's the only one who gets anywhere close to keeping up with Kal.

What DOES stop Kalmar in his tracks is when Ryland Grace steps out of his house, sees a child running towards him and immediately snaps into teacher mode and yells "No running in the halls!" and Kalmar recognizes the tone in his voice and skids to a stop, surprised.

The other kids catch up and Grace finds himself confronted with a gang of middle-schoolish aged kids who start peppering him with questions and immediately decides he must be hallucinating, but it's kind of a nice hallucination so he rolls with it.

The kids keep asking where they are so he tells them, "On Erid" and that makes so many more questions so he makes the kids all sit down, drags a chalkboard out of his house and starts explaining what and where Erid is as if he were in a classroom back on Earth, which works, because all the kids are aware of Earth.

This scene of Grace holding the whole gang of kids (even the notoriously adhd Kalmar) absolutely enthralled as they learn about space is soon witnessed by Artham, who tracked down the kids when they went missing, and Rocky, who came to visit Grace. They're both baffled but amused and they stand and watch for a little while, then, almost in unison they decide that they should PROBABLY do something and walk up to the group. Rocky asks Grace what he's doing and Grace replies, "teaching a group of kids I hallucinated, why not, right?" Artham asks the kids what they're doing and Kalmar jumps up and yells, "We're learning about space! :D"

Chaos erupts as several things happen at once: 1. Rocky tells Grace he can see the kids too, so Grace is not hallucinating, 2. Grace notices Artham and goes, "?! angels are real now too?? wait am I dead? no, Rocky's here- Rocky, are we dead?" 3. all the kids (minus 1) are talking at once to Artham.

And 4. Leeli sneaks up to Rocky and starts listening intently to him and then scares him half to death when she perfectly replicates the words he's saying on her whistleharp, leading Rocky to exclaim, "YOU HAVE HUMANS WHO CAN SPEAK ERIDIAN QUESTION" to Grace xD

That's it, that's the scenario, I just think it'd be hilarious. The Annierans would be more than happy to give food and stuff to Ryland and the Eridians, and the Eridians probably give them stuff in return (like zenonite, Fiddleford is the only person who knows how absolutely NUTS it is. Fiddleford definitely has some long and interesting conversations with the Eridians about technology and building things and probably helps them upgrade/work out tweaks in Grace's biodome. He also has some fascinating and amusing conversations with Grace, they'd probably have fun talking science to each other xD he'd also have sooooo much fun talking to Rocky ehehehe)

Kalmar spends waaaaaaay too much time trying to convince Grace to let them "borrow" the Hail Mary. He almost succeeds but Janner shows up and tackles him.

Leeli picks up Eridian terrifyingly fast. Why wouldn't she, afterall, her entire thing is music, and she already fluently speaks another language (dogspeak xD). The baby Eridians are especially enamored with her, but even the adults are fascinated by her mastery of their language. Grace is slightly irritated and keeps muttering that human children pick up language faster and more fluently than adults.

Grace explaining to Kalmar, Janner and Artham how he ended up in space and he gets to the part about how he didn't want to go to space and tried to run and the three of them just get really quiet and solemn and he stops and asks why and Kalmar finally just kind of shrugs and says, "We ran too. Also Janner had to get sacrificed to restore our people." "... WHAT." (bonus if this leads to the Wingfeathers explaining the First Well and how it works and then they're like, "Oh hey! do you want some? Since you said this planet hurts you and also you're living around people who live a LOT longer than humans and the First Well water can prolong people's lives, would you like that?" and Grace starts crying and later gets to tell Rocky that they figured out a way for him to live longer and if Rocky could cry he'd be crying too, "Grace will live long time question?!" "Yeah, we tested it. I can't even feel the extra gravity anymore and they said this water made people in their world live hundreds of years. Kalmar said he'll bring over a couple? barrels?? of the stuff." "GRACE NOT DIE SO SOON AMAZE AMAZE AMAZE" ;-; )

Anyway. I feel like there are possibilities here.

Okay, last night, I found this (cropped from the Featherfest, season 4 premiere poster) and I cannot get over how cute Kalmar is.

Like AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH LOOK AT HIS ADORABLE LITTLE FACE!!!! WHY DID THEY MAKE HIM SO CUTE?!?! CUTENESS OVERLOOOOOAD

Janner looks great too, and Leeli is as cute as always, but Kal.... AAAAAAAHHHHHHH I AM DECEASED

Has the best hearing in Aerwiar, maybe barring Artham

Has never mispronounced a single word since he turned five

Ridiculously good at learning languages. Like it’s not “I can speak any language instinctively just by hearing it” but he picks them up crazy fast. Speaks Hollish, Doonish, and Troll fluently by fifteen. If he had Duolingo you know he’d have a language score of 50 in two weeks 

Isn’t a singer, but has a performer’s voice. Really good at projecting 

Fastest reader in Aerwiar 

Has the most legible handwriting known to man. Not beautiful, legible. Man writes in Times New Roman. 

Never struggles to memorize anything. Like he hears it twice and it’s engrained in his brain forever

Really close with that Owen kid from Ban Rona. Def his best friend besides Kal

Extremely claustrophobic. Was always kinda there but the Fork! Factory! trauma made it a lot worse. 

Kalmar ☀️👁️👑

Has the best eyesight in all of Aerwiar, maybe barring Artham (being half eagle has its perks)

Can see colors slightly outside the human color spectrum. infrared and ultraviolet ain’t any mystery to him

Never forgets what something looks like. Not quite a photographic memory, but if he sees something, he can draw it perfectly years later

Has the most beautiful handwriting known to man. Not legible, beautiful. His version of messy scribbles is most people’s best cursive. Nobody can read his “good” writing because of all the gorgeous but unnecessary flourishes he adds (Janner and Artham are the sole exceptions)

Art style? What art style? He fluctuates between “what do you mean that’s not a photo” and “what do you mean this isn’t a Picasso” on a whim. 

Never really gets over his fear of heights

Has severe ADHD. The only thing he can ever sit still for is food and art. Drives Nia insane because he can never pay attention in any meeting ever. If Aerwiar had those inflatable wiggle cushions there would be one in every chair he’s ever sat in

Leeli ⭐️🪉🎶

Has perfect pitch. Like perfect to the point that if Janner sneezes she’s like “that was a beautiful a flat”

She can listen to a song once and play it perfectly by ear immediately after. Every part too, like she hears Stars and Stripes and can pick out the flute part, the sousaphone part, the trumpet part, the clarinet part, and just. Knows

THE sight reading master. Like she will look at the most complicated piece of music ever to exist and sight read it with max two minor mistakes

Has mild empathy. It’s barely there most of the time but when she plays music it gets stronger, especially if the dream-window thing happens. Also stronger when she’s touching someone

Is also extremely observant. She notices the tiniest changes in expression and posture all the time, and coupled with her empathy, she’s practically telepathic. Creeps people out all the time. 

Master of the puppy eyes. Nobody but Nia can ever say no to Leeli Wingfeather’s puppy eyes

Has Disney Princess magnetism when it comes to dogs

Her improvisational skills typically only extend to the melody of a song, not the lyrics. If she’s really in the zone she can spontaneously sing like a Disney princess but that only happens occasionally 

The Jewels of Anniera 🗡️👑🎶

Janner and Leeli can both hear pitches above and below the typical human range

Leeli and Kalmar both have that thing where they can see sounds/hear colors idk what it’s called. Anyway it drives Janner crazy because they’ll be talking about what the garden sounds like (Leeli) or what color the birdsong is (Kal) and Janner has no clue what they’re talking about. Tried to join once, said the river sounds blue, promptly left amid wild cackles of ridicule. 

Janner will put words to Leeli’s songs and write poems/stories based on/around a landscape Kal draws. Kal will paint Leeli’s songs and Janner’s poems. Leeli will put music to Janner’s poems and Kal’s paintings. Sometimes all at once and Nia or somebody will walk in on Janner scribbling furiously (in the font Arial), Kal throwing paint on a canvas like he’s Jackson Pollock, and Leeli shredding on her whistleharp like she has to play the entire Hamilton songbook in twenty minutes and then whoever it is will just back out of the room slowly like the kids are a pack of rabid raccoons (they are)

Janner and Kalmar are the wingmen of all time. For the entire island. You want help with a girl? The king and the throne warden will be happy to help you out. You want help with a guy? The king and the throne warden will be delighted to give you advice. No, no other kingdom has it. No, it’s not normal but it’s what they do and they’re happy with it

If anybody is at all ableist toward Leeli, Janner and Kalmar will unleash the full force of their fiery rage on the poor sucker

shout out to my girlie Idony St. Claire (the character in my pfp!!!!) from the Silver Eye! she's canonically blind but just as much a part of the adventures as anyone else <3

also shout out to my girlie Leeli from the Wingfeather Saga who has a lame leg and walks with a crutch, but is still able to fight through her music and keep up with her two brothers <3

and a shout out to my girlie Toph from atla, who we all know is blind but just as kick-butt as a girl could be <3
