So I’ve eaten like crap today and I wasn’t feeling it for the gym but I still got my ass in there and I ended up smashing it on my leg day!!!!! 😅✌🏼👍🏼 It doesn’t make up for eating like crap but it makes me feel proud that I got myself in there again after work and took no prisoners!
I ended up doing: 🔥30 mins cycling 🔥5x20 130lb hip adduction 🔥5x20 110lb hip abduction 🔥5x15 120lb leg extension 🔥50 calf raises 🔥50 sumo squats Yeah, I’m gonna be sore and walking funny tomorrow hahaha! Worth it tho ✌🏼🔥💯😅
gym, gym, gym
I got to the gym today (hooray for achieving a goal). I wanted to get a bus there but the 8.15 service did not turn up and I was not going to wait 15mins for another service so I decided to jog there. It was hard but not long (I can run 4 miles). I also took a wrong turn but no biggie. I also decided to jog back because my sweaty self was not going to get on a bus and force people to deal with my smell. I ended up walking-jogging-walking home. When I considered that I had a leg sessions at the gym, I probably should have spent more time walking then jogging but it would have taken longer to get home and I really wanted to eat a kipper and some sweet potato. The session itself was fun. I miss gym life so am considering signing up to a 6weeks offer to a different gym close by me.
Looks like I'm onto something...
So, it would appear that this is turning into a bit of a fitness blog. Originally this was just a place for me to let off steam about things, so we'll see how it goes.
That said, I suppose I may as well start sharing my training sessions and meals with all of you.
Today's workout?
Treadmill for 20 minutes, at a consistent speed of 8mph. I covered approximately 2.85 miles.
Hop off the treadmill, straight into a training session for legs.
Exercise 1 - Leg Extender: 4 sets of 10 reps at 55kg.
Exercise 2 - Leg Press: 4 sets of 10 reps at 110kg.
Exercise 3 - Calf Raises: 4 sets of 20 reps at 120kg.
Exercise 4 - Leg Curl: 4 sets of 10 reps at 60kg.
Leg sessions are exhausting at the best of times, but after a 3 mile run, this nearly destroyed me. I had half a protein bar immediately following the workout (equal to 25g protein, 12.5g carbohydrate, 0.5g sugar & 4g fat). I then came home and ate the following:
-
2 x Haddock Fillets (230g)
1 x Tin of garden peas.
Few squirts of low fat salad cream, and a little bit of salt.
-
The advantage of the above meal is that it contains about 60g of protein, which is great for muscle reparation. Also, on a George Foreman grill, the whole thing takes about 7 minutes to make. Anyway, that's me for the night. I've got quite a big workout planned for tomorrow, but I'll see how things go and keep you posted. Hope you're all good!
