CANON: Abbey Reopening - The Cover of the Program
She Lives! // Open
"I canât believe itâs happening. Months of pain-staking plans and effort, sheâs ready.â Ivan said quietly, smiling brightly as he looked over the Abbey and itâs opened doors.

Itâs very easy to make me smile.
Run!
Max only vaguely recognized the man that was trying to direct people, in the exact opposite direction that they needed to be going. âThatâs taking you straight to the Originals!â Max countered when he saw a few of them following the orders. He glared at the man and stood his ground. âDonât listen to him!â
âDonât listen to him! Come and be safe this way!â He told the people who were hesitating, his expression as true as it ever was when he tried to reassure the humanâs safety. There was no way he was going to let those people win who had caused so much destruction to his home, to a man who had been in his life for years. âCome this way, youâll be safe. I promise you that.â He smiled to the young woman and her child, giving them a nod and ushering them to some of the others who were helping them into Original territory.
The Hunt is On
Finally. His brotherâs wife had finally managed something good. With the shields down, Damon was now unleashed on the people left in the government territory. Taking full advantage, he began thee search for anyone and everyone in charge of the former FMID. Every agent was on his list as he scoured the area.
He had been champing at the bit to rip apart the cowards hiding in their section of the world. With most of the rest of the New York under their control nothing really has been much of a challenge. Now he was getting exactly what he wanted, needed. A little bloodshed.
As the shields went down, Ivan knew it was only a matter of time before the Originals started to infiltrate the Government. His dark hues watched the crowd, still manning the refugees until they began to finally just go right to where he had been telling them to. Seeing a young boy nearly screaming for his parents, Ivan knew it wasnât good. Scooping the kid up and keeping him close, he tried to keep him calm.
Thatâs when he saw Damon coming in. His eyes instantly widened and he placed the boy back to his feet. âGo to that nice lady over there and tell her you canât find your parents. Theyâll keep you safe. Donât worry.â He told the boy, squeezing his shoulder and then gesturing for him to go. The boy was still crying, but he wasnât screaming anymore.
Now, this is where he had to make sure that the bloodshed was something people wouldnât see. He nodded to Damon, giving him a non-verbal offer to help if he needed it.

Eve of Destruction
Person after person, baby after baby, elder after elder...it was hard for Ivan to keep his wits about him. He held it, of course, knowing that he was seeing a completely different side to this whole war by helping them. âJust this way, Sir. I promise there will be others to help you on the other side.â He said to an elderly man who was having trouble getting to him. Asking one of the other Second Gens to help the old man, he smiled to him and gave a gentle wave and knew he would have to check on him later. âMiss, please, donât go that way!â He called out, waving for her to follow the old man being helped. She recognized him and who he was, easily heeding Ivanâs warning. Maybe, with who he was, this had made it easy to save the lives of those who were nearly walking right into the line of fire. But, right now, he had to focus on the task at hand...despite how much it hurt to see this many people so broken.
Run!
They should have been ready for something like this. Evan had been preparing them for the day that it happened but that didât make it any better. They had far too many untrained civilians to try and keep some sort of order while defending their home. Max knew it was only a matter of time before chaos consumed the whole of Lower Manhattan so there was only one thing he could say to the people that were looking to him for help or guidance. âRun!â He shouted to the woman when he spotted a group walking right through what should have been their defensive line.
It was madness, watching those who had no idea how to fight just scramble like ants whoâs line had been interrupted by a small stick being placed in the middle. There was a lot going on already, these people didnât need more trouble and the last thing he wanted were innocent civilians being murdered because they were confused. Hearing a familiar voice calling to a woman to run, Ivanâs onyx gaze locked on the woman and he waved her out of the way. âThis way, miss! Just follow them to safety!â He called out to her, his gaze moving quickly to Max and then to a few more civilians to help them out of the way.
She really wanted to keep her head from delving into a thousand different scenarios of what could have happened if Kantor decided to make her stay a lot harsher, or replaying everything that indeed happened, over and over again in her head, but she could not. She was tired and although she tried to get some sleep, she couldnât. The warm summer air clung around her and she didnât even like it â it felt like pressure of knowing she was free and someone else was not. Her thoughts were interrupted by an all too familiar voice and Natalie held her breath â she didnât see anyone apart from Zach ever since she returned. Turning around on her heel, she spotted Ivan in front of her and remembered what she hoped was a message to get to him in case she didnât make it out. Pressing her lips together, she didnât give off any sign that she was about to do what she did â acted on instinct, just like she did with Chris earlier, and jogged off to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. Something she didnât think she would do in a million years.
When Natalie turned without saying a word, Ivan knew that they must still be strained. He sighed softly, letting his gaze lock on hers. That was, until, she started jogging towards him. He could tell she wasnât angry, but why was she going up to him at such a pace? Then, with her arms around the back of his neck, he instantly wrapped his arms around her waist to hold her close. He felt himself tremble a bit, since the last time they were this close things had blown up. Though, as he hugged her, he pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head in a platonic and comforting manner. He did this with Leona often, especially after the world turned upside down.
Natalie pushed the door to one of the main balconies at the Viceroy, walking up to the railing and leaning on it with just the palms of her hands. She breathed the warm summer night air in, suddenly aware of just how the air in New York City became much fresher. She closed her eyes just to take the moment in, after a hectic day. She found herself in need of some alone time â which was a little paradoxical considering how much time she had spent being locked up. She simply needed to take a moment to appreciate being free again. @voice-symphony
He had spent a lot of time wandering, trying to make sure everything was perfect for the Abbeyâs reopening, and his aimless walking outside seemed to help clear his head. With the news of Natalie returning and Vanessa going back, Ivan knew that he had to see what was going on. Chris had told him what Natalie had told Jana, he just wanted to know what was going on. As he passed by a balcony, he saw a familiar head of blonde hair and he swallowed hard. His steps were slow and quiet, his voice gentle and calm. âHey.â He said simply, giving a worried but warm smile towards the newly freed Second Gen.

Chris took a long drink before he answered. âSheâs fine. Jana went to go see her and said sheâs okay, for the most part. And itâs surprising that you say that because she mentioned you when talking to her.â He wanted to tell Ivan that they had a plan to get Natalie out of there, but he wasnât sure if that was a good idea given the fact Vincent could look into Ivanâs head to find out whatever he said.
âWait, she mentioned me?â He asked, his brows furrowing and dropping every part of the conversation as he thought as to why she mentioned Ivan when they were not on good terms the last time they had interacted. It was incredibly tense when they were on the sidelines, waiting for the Government to do something months ago. âWhat did she say?â
Hey There, Hello There//Vanessa and Ivan
â Iâm glad Chris has someone looking out for him,â she smiled weakly before quickly grabbing the granola bar,â Thank you,â she nodded as she munched on her impromptu snack, the people in charge around here werenât too keen on giving her food and drink.
Curling up in a ball was the smart thing to do if the situation came to it- it protected your head and other vital organs, she knew that but she was working on not getting hit in the first place and for the most part she  stay quiet and made an uninteresting target of herself.
â I know there isnât much you can do,â she agreed, âVisits are nice though, I appreciate it. I just donât want you to get into any trouble,â she added before her eyes glanced up at the camera, âwe are being watched and I donât know how theyâll feel about second gen fraternizing with the enemy.âÂ
âIâll always look out for Chris. Heâs my brother, you know? Iâd do just about anything for him.â Ivan told her with a nod, watching her eat before looking away to give her that privacy she most likely wanted right now. He looked over the area and halls, knowing he couldnât go in. It would violate everything he had going on for him, especially since the world seemed to be full of this heavy darkness that just couldnât be shaken off.
âIâll try and visit often, though it wonât be easy. Iâm not on your side, they know that, but you and I are friends. I put all of that a side to help those who are trying to do something thatâs positive.â Nipping his bottom lip, he looked into her eyes for a moment while thinking of everything that had been going on. âI know the Resistance had nothing to do with Natalie. Christ told me that sheâs safe and that the Governmentâs behind her kidnapping. I know youâre innocent, I just have no idea why youâre in here. What happened?â
Gotta Ask // Chivan
Chris gratefully took the coffee and had a long sip. Oh how he missed this. Of course he paused when he heard why Ivan called him here. Well, he should have expected that. âThe Resistance had nothing to do with it and weâre not happy that the Government grabbed her, if thatâs what youâre wondering.â
âI know you guys didnât do that. I know she is close to Ryan and all of that. Itâs the Government, we all know that, because theyâve been after us since the beginning. You guys want justice where as the Government wants to control us.â He said with a sigh, nipping his bottom lip as he shook his head. âI just want to know if sheâs okay. I mean, weâll never be on good terms, never, but at least I want her to know that everyoneâs wanting to get her out of there.â
Hey There, Hello There//Vanessa and Ivan
âIvan?,â Vanessa answered back  apologetically as she squinted at him and shook her head, she always got a little cranky when she was tired,â thought you were one of the guards there for a minute, what are you doing here?â she asked innocently as she stretched and yawned, resting one hand on the small of her back, these cots where definitely not designed with comfort in mind.
âPeople have been in and out of hereâŠ.gawking at me like Iâm some sort of zoological specimen on displace,â she frowned, âIâd say something but it would just give them reason to hurt me.âÂ
âi heard someone took one of the Resistance members, I just didnât know which one of you. I thought it mightâve been Chris, but him and I have a system to let each other know weâre alright.â He said, nipping his bottom lip as he looked over to her. âBut Iâm sorry youâre in there. I know you donât ever mean harm.â Ivan tried to reassure her since they had been friends for quite a bit.
âI wonât gawk at you. Here.â He said, looking into his satchel he kept his tablet in. Pulling out a granola bar he got from his rations, he slipped it through the door and nodded. âGo ahead and eat that and quickly, but donât choke. If they hurt you, curl up into a ball as tightly as you can. I canât do much more than giving you some snacks, but Iâll visit you...and often.â
âHave what over us? Theyâre a team now, theyâre all the same. But if you must know its the remnants of the government.âÂ
âIâm not talking about all of them as a team, Alexander. Iâm talking about us killing the wrong person and then the actual perpetrator is still out there.â Shaking his head a couple of times, Ivan looked over in the direction in which the Government held their territory. âI feel this seems as if one person was acting alone in all of this; rash decisions and all.â
