JACOB BLACK : HEADCANONS 1/?

Jacob is big into lacrosse. It’s the most popular sport ( apart from hockey ) on the rez, and he’s played it since he was old enough to walk. The community usually hosts a big, rez-wide game twice throughout the summer. In his early adulthood onwards, Jacob coaches the recreational kids league and is pretty involved in the sport.

He likes to cook -- his form of cooking is usually centred around the barbecue, so he’s a fan of having people over for cookouts when the weather is reasonable. He’s not bad in the kitchen, and gets progressively better throughout his young adulthood.

He does not view himself as artistic. The carvings he does are a little past time that keeps his hands busy when he feels the need. At first, they were very crude, but he has improved in those too. They aren’t too many of them, but they’re often scattered about his room and the garage, and he generally views them all as half finished, even if he has no intention to finish any of them.

After he finishes the necessary requirements for high school ( which he barely does ), he does take some community college credits ( though not enough for a certificate ) that are pretty generally trades focused. He enjoys working on his bike, and learns more about small engines and cars through experience. Eventually, he opens Black Auto Repair -- which is really just a wooden sign over his garage. Many people in the community begin turning to him for help though, and he does reasonably well.

Jacob is also very involved in the community in his young adulthood in terms of beginning to go to council ( as the resident alpha, though they don’t exactly speak about that directly ). He generally defers to the elders and doesn’t participate much, but he does when he has an issue or idea he feels is important to raise.

He gets his first honour feather at nine, one that had belonged to his mother. He is ever careful and delicate with it, and keeps it on the highest shelf in his bedroom. Years later, he thinks he’s lost it and tears the room apart only to find it exactly where he’d put it to keep it safe.
