My poor Lavellan would be tripping over/running into so much shit when they first got to Skyhold. 'That rubble is a few steps away' and then he'd be down. 'I have time to step around that wall' and then Skyhold would hear a thud.

01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?

Kirlian: I used a fantasy name generator to find Kirlian’s name, I liked the way it sounded and felt that it really fit her character. I happen to use name generators a /lot/ but in her canon backstory she was born under a different name and when she got older she named herself after her father’s mother Kirlian.

Leif: I actually pronounce this one not as ‘leaf’ but as ‘lay-f’ and I uhhhhh kinda just picked this name at random? I liked it for him and it stuck

02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?

Kirlian: She’s usually very confident in herself and in her skills but one thing that really makes her feel uncomfortable and out of place is that she feels out of touch with both city and Dalish elves (I’ve altered her backstory so she grew up separated from both a clan and an alienage). She feels like an outsider and it is something that the whispers from humans and elves alike bother her and get under her skin.

Leif: Leif is very insecure about being an ‘absent father’. His own father died when he was very young and so for the most part he grew up without one and with Inquisition business keeping him so far from Cyril and Mihrin he hates not being there for them, he wants to be the best husband and father that he can be. How can he be that when he’s hardly with them? He knows that he’s saving the world, but it still gets into his mind and bothers him.

13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker?

Kirlian: She is a very light sleeper, the smallest noise or movement and she’s wide awake. She’s also very still when she sleeps, she’ll curl up as small as she can in one spot and Stay There, this does fade as she gets older, finds safer places to sleep and places where she knows she’s safe, she doesn’t have to be on guard but she still remains a very light sleeper.

Leif: Sleeps like the dead. It’ll take another Breach opening in the sky to wake him up and he can sleep just about anywhere it doesn’t matter how uncomfortable it may look. Leif is also one of those people who are actually demons and don’t sleep with any blankets. I don’t know how he does it.

21. What is one of your character’s biggest fears? How would they react when dealing with this fear?

Kirlian: Being alone. She lost her family at a young age and was forced to survive on her own, she was truly alone for many years. This fear really only surfaces after meeting Cecil and joining the Inquisition because then she has people she’s terrified of losing again. She can’t handle being alone very well, she doesn’t like quiet and she gets very antsy when left on her own.

Leif: This one is tied in with his big insecurity, but he’s terrified of not being able to protect Cyril and Mihrin. He failed to protect Cyril once before and it nearly killed him, he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he failed to protect them again. The fear demon uses this against Leif in the Fade and after Adamant he doesn’t sleep very well, he’s restless and gets up several times during the night to check on Mihrin in her crib.

they’d shoot at each other till they ran out of arrows probably lmao. the shitty sniper dance of neither wanting to give in but neither really wanting to injure the other. Leif’s one of those dudes where if Étienne got a contract on him, he’d straight up refuse to believe anyone could hate him enough to want him dead.
