so i found designated survivor and my subconscious has decided to form an aggressive attachment to tom kirkman

in which the dreaded day comes and you get to meet your boyfriend's parents. also known as the president and the first lady.

𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: food

you were dating leo for some time and his parents insisted on inviting you for a dinner, because they just really wanted to meet you

so once leo told you about this saturday dinner in the white house you started freaking out because well, not everybody gets three days to prepare for meal with the us president

also, you were really suprised that tom has time to meet you

“come on, dont overthink it y/n, it’s just a dinner”

“i know, but what if they won’t like me?”

“just be yourself and i promise it will be okay”

the saturday came incredibly fast and before you knew it, you were standing in front of the white house

“leo i’m freaking out”

“yeah, i can see that”

he took you to the private part of white house where everything was already set up

he was holding your hand the entire time and it calmed you a little bit

“hi, im penny, are you leo’s girlfriend? he talks about you all the time.”

“yeah, i am. it’s really nice to finally meet you penny.”

his parents absolutely LOVE you

both of them asked you to call them by their first names

tom was really impressed with your politics knowledge

“when can i hire you as my chief of staff assistant?”

alex adores the way you play with penny

both of them ask you about your family, school, future plans BUT very respectfully and polite, they understand if you don’t feel comfortable with answering some questions:)

they ask to meet your parents

penny shows you her room and asks you to braid her hair

at the end all of them hug you

“im really happy that leo found somebody like you, y/n”

they invite you to the next dinner

Imagine Penny telling you that Leo has a crush on you

[Name] always liked it when Mr. and Mrs. Kirkman called her to come over and look after Penny. Not only were the Kirkmans great and kind people, but Penny was also just a pleasure to look after. Unlike other kids who could be rotten and a brat to look after, Penny was the complete opposite. She was very well behaved and a very calm and quiet kid for someone her age. It was the reason why the two were sitting at the kitchen counter coloring in some of the coloring books Penny had. 

The two had been quietly coloring when Leo walked out of his room, dressed for a day out. Looking up from her book, [Name] gave Leo a smile and a small wave. “Hey, Leo.”

He answered with a soft ‘hi’ before he exited the house. His reaction caused [Name] to let out a sad sigh. She knew he wasn’t a quiet guy. From the stories Penny had told her about him, he seemed to be very outgoing which confused her as he was the exact opposite to her. “Does Leo not like me?” 

Not looking up from coloring book, Penny shook her head.  “He does like you.” 

“What do you mean, Penny? He never even seems to look at me when I’m here.”

Penny lets out a giggle. “That’s not true. He does like you. I heard him say that he has a crush on you.”
