sometimes i think about what would happen if we got leon in re8

i feel like he would’ve worked alongside chris, the DSO or whoever prolly sent him along with the hound wolf squad just in case. i mean, leon is essentially their prize fighter and if anyone can handle cult shit like the village, it’s him.

so he’s moseying around with chris and the hws and they come across ethan in the reservoir. ethan, who’s been battered by the elements and lycans and the lords and honestly just deserves a break. he accuses chris of killing mia, insisting he finish the job. chris doesn’t answer.

leon knows the truth. as does the rest of the hws, the mia living with ethan had been mother miranda. they didn’t kill mia, mia is missing. so why isn’t chris telling ethan?

does he see himself in ethan? does he see luis in chris? does he see ethan being kept in the dark about miranda and mia, and think about himself being kept in the dark regarding los illuminados and umbrella?

when moreau sweeps the squad away, wherever they end up, they need time to recuperate. leon confronts chris. what use is keeping ethan in the dark? clearly if he can handle two of the four lords, he’d be far more valuable being kept in the loop. chris states that ethan is a civilian, that he’d cause more trouble than anything - a last-ditch effort to keep the poor guy safe.

leon reminds chris of raccoon city. leon may as well have been a civilian during the first outbreak. claire was.

maybe leon would’ve left. maybe leon seeks ethan out, offers to help. leon knows what it’s like to be in this position. he won’t let it happen to anyone else.
