Meanwhile Stratt is sitting next to him, she takes notice and then, not wanting to just shake him awake, decides to very discreetly reach a hand over to ever so lightly spider her fingers along his side to keep him upright
For a while, it works, with Grace suddenly EXTREMELY engaged in the conversation while his leg starts bouncing to stop himself from squirming too much, lips twitching upwards into a teeny wobbly smile which he tries his best to hide by leaning it into his hand.
However, Eva then slows her movements a bit and he seems to gradually get used to the feeling, and it now unfortunately has the opposite effect. It's comforting and lulling him back into drowsiness. Alright, new tactic, Stratt shifts her method to gentle squeezing just beneath the side of his ribs. But sadly, he jerks a bit and her hand slips, ending up pinching right above his hip. Which is WAY more sensitive.
Grace shrieks and flinches away, immediately covering his mouth. His face burns as the entire room goes quiet. Stratt's hand is back in her lap like nothing happened, leaving Ryland to awkwardly excuse himself from the meeting. At least now he can go have a nap.
