While a lot of lesbians have a really complex relationship with gender and femininity, it’s okay if you don’t. It doesn’t make you any less of a lesbian.
The past does not invalidate the present. If you dated men in the past, if you identified as something else in the past, that doesn't make you fake or not good enough. You are still a lesbian, regardless of what you thought and did before realizing that.
I hope all you lesbians out there get to grow old and be happy and live the life of their dreams with their wife whom they love with their whole heart
When I say that my gender is lesbian, I mean that my entire experience with gender and the way I express it is tied beyond doubt with my identity as a lesbian. I am not a woman, I am a lesbian. I do not exist for men. My entire being is inextricably linked to the fact that I love women and I exist for women. I don’t use she/her pronouns because of the fact that my experience with womenhood is so disconnected from society. I don’t dress feminine because I want to be seen as a lesbian first and a woman second. Everything I am is tied to being a lesbian and knowing this makes me feel like I’m no longer being kept in a box.
