Life has a bunch of valleys and hilltops. And some unique places in between. Whatever level I've been on I've met some great human beings. Today I want to salute one of my closest friends, Lamar Dixon. We've known each other since we were 14 year old freshmen at West Philadelphia High School. We've had each others back for a long time and I've watched this man overcome some major adversity. Pitfalls that could have destroyed his life became stepping stones for faith. Lamar became a father as a teenager and he stepped up to the plate with joy and honor. He's super loyal and he works extremely hard at everything. After serving our country's military, he went back to school and got his college degree and his masters degree is a done deal. He's the author of two books with more to come. He's an AAU basketball coach and the founder of two non-profit organizations that serve young people. His village has grown as a father and his children are his world. And our world is a better place because of Lamar Dixon and the work he's putting in. This isn't an advertisement or political statement, it's just real rap. I salute you Mar and I'm excited about the legacy that you're living and leaving.
