Letharia gracilis
This foliose lichen grows on wood and bark at high elevations in California and southern Oregon in the U.S. It was established as a separate species from the broader Letharia columbiana group in 2009, and can be differentiated from look-alike species based off of its distribution, as well as its thinner, droopier, less-branchy branches. There are unfortunately not many pictures available online since L. gracilis, since it is pretty rare and likes to grow in remote, montane locations--a real pity considering how gorgeous it is! So you know, get out there and take pictures of lichens!
