7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
man this one is hard, theres always pieces i love
'I ache for you – for the way your gloved hand caresses my cheek in those tender moments, for your sure steps through the labyrinth I must live in, for the way those piercing eyes soften at my arrival (and I am so painfully sorry I have never turned to see what they look like when I leave, for I fear I would simply run back to your arms and damn my position to hell.) My love, when I wake up in the morning it is your arms I wish were around me rather than his, it is your ring I long to wear on my finger rather than his, it is your heart I long for rather than his. Perhaps, in another life, I was less of a coward and less preoccupied with my position. Our love haunts me, and it is a ghost I could not ever want to exorcise. I live my life in our secret moments, hidden in hotels and scented with tulips and camellias and regret. There is nothing – nothing – I want more than to love you openly.'
repetition of threes, repressed feelings, and flower language? sign me up. seriously though, this is from 'letters unsent' and despite being written in an hour for a challenge, its one of my favourite pieces - i can definitely see where my writing got influenced by edwardian lit here.
13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?
ooh, tough question - mainly because what it differs between writers. my main one is to not be afraid to use literary devices, they'll always spice things up, and its pretty easy to tell when you're overdoing it.
another one that was really important for me was that you don't have to write chronologically - if you're stuck, just stick a note saying [this happens in this way] and move on to a part you want to write about
14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?
Don't use a thesaurus, it drives readers away.
i don't like this one bc a) i like having to look up new words i find it fun, and b) it always feels like its coming from some company executive who wants things to be short and snappy and marketable, not... yknow, your writing.
also, c) if i never used a thesaurus you'd be stuck reading the same verb 12 times. i am bad at remembering to change out verbs i need it for variety desperately
yes, using overly complicated diction for long periods of time can cause readers to get weary, and don't use a word if you don't know how to use it - but please. use a thesaurus.

Tell us about your love for your tsun gun. Tell us about her lovely hair and her beautiful voice and her incredible cooking.
Wa2000 is adorable and small and tries really hard!!!
Wa2k’s whole thing is about taking pride in her work and she bases her self worth on it so you have to let her know she’s doing a good job, even if she doesn’t want you to know she needs the praise-
EvEN THOUGH SHE DESERVES THE PRAISE!
She’s one of the best group clearing rifles in the game and that hasn’t changed since launch, so much so that she’s like, easy mode for nyto fights!
AND ALSO SHE’S SO PRETTY!!
fuckin-
LOOK AT HER! HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A GIRL SO BEAUTIFUL, YOU CRIED?
She was my first SSR in the game and my first Oath and she’s been greeting me when I log on for over like, a year? two years? And I love hearing her yell at me or be all shy and flustered
also for the longest time i thought her hair was black but apparently that’s wrong
i am very colorblind
When was the moment you fell in love with Medusa?
theres a point in the HF vn where she asks shirou what she should call him and then proceeds to try and pronounce his name properly. it’s a good like minute of it and it’s super cute. i liked her as a character before this but this little sequence opened up her personality. i’ll reblog a post with the audio when i find it.

I can't believe Fi is so low on the "Hawaiian shirt" scale
lmaoo LISTEN
IN MY DEFENSE
if he was on a scale where the nulls and deltas weren’t included, he’d be at the top. it’s scaled against some very extreme vode, ok
he’s incredibly Hawaiian shirt compared to other Omegas and the rest of the clan but he’s a lot less next to Mereel and Scorch. trust me, i’m very scientific
more seriously though, as a character he reads as a lot less Hawaiian shirt than he wants / wishes to be. often throughout the series that air he carefully cultivates around himself is pointed out by different people to be more of a defense mechanism rather than how he really feels about his state and situation in the galaxy, and that he’s often providing his humor and positivity in large part in an effort to keep both himself and his squad in positive spirits---but in low moments that veneer cracks and what shines through is really a deeply wounded, deeply unhappy person exercising the “fake it til you make feel it!” sort of coping mechanism that works less and less as the war drags on
that’s mostly why I have him so low on the Hawiian shirt axis---because even though it’s what he wishes/wants to present to the galaxy, it isn’t what he is / how he really feels. post shaken-not-stirred incident, he actually starts to level out and be more true to that complicated personality within him, and this scale is mostly framed in that part of the series’ timeline.
ANYWAY that’s my thinking behind it, but you could also be right and he should be higher up!! that’s a totally fair opinion tbh I’ll have to think about it
When you get this you have to answer with 5 things you like about yourself publicly then send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers! ( non negotiable!! Positivity is cool!)

Next Up is MG 3
Uh, stuff happened.
Also, it’s hard to find much wrong with this thing.Germany just has pretty solid small arms all around which is shocking considering the state of their Air Force. But I guess it’s not hard to have the best when you’re basically H&Ks meal ticket.
The MG3 is exactly what it looks like, It’s an Mg42 with a plastic stock chambered in .308. (7.62x51mm if you wanna be pedantic.) So it’s good.
But it’s not perfect.
The MG3, and by extension MG42, have two critical issues that would make them my second choice behind a PK variant. They cannot easily accommodate optics, as is to be expected from a gun initially designed in the 40s. The other is that it fires entirely too fast.
Like, it’s actually a genuine problem.
At a rough fire rate of 1200 rounds per minute, which is obscenely fast, it creates logistical issues other guns don’t have to deal with. This may initially seem like a good thing but the MG3 needs more ammo to fire the same amount of time as it’s peers, like the PK or M240. Meaning that it’s users must either carry more ammo and thus more weight or have to make do with less effective supporting fire capability.
This doesn’t make the gun bad, but it does make it less desirable.
In GFL MG3 is a 4-star doll with pretty solid art and middling performance. (Apologies if it’s blurry, couldn’t find a better image of just her.)
