MERRY CHRISTMAS @see-arcane !!
I know I already posted this but I had it saved so you get it again xD
Don’t be ridiculous, Hec. Of course I’m not in love with that girl. Look at her and then look at me. I am a god. I am the terrifying God of the Underworld. I am a king. She is just an Oceanid. She’s not even that beautiful. She’s not on my level. She’s not even immortal. Besides, what even is "love"? I’ve never heard of it in my life. What is it, Hecate? I truly don’t know. If I were in love, I would know it. So, I’m not. Yes, that's right.
10000 thanks to @ibrithir-was-here for this beautiful Christmas gift! She's based off my tragic pearl of a girl interpretation for Leuce, Hades' first try at abducting a girlfriend. I have been staring at this image for hours--look at all the color! The light! The shine! GAH 🦪
The first cut is always the deepest.
(Hades & Leuke)
Some sketches from the past week of Hades and Persephone, Zagreus, and my version of Leuke/Leuce.
I think I might post more art like this, but just clean up the line art. I would rather save the colouring and outlines for bigger pieces. Also, I am accepting that I just can't get hades lips right 🫠. Enjoy!!!!

could you do a sketch of the nymph Leuce please? (The poplar tree one)
shes been sitting there for a while sorry chat
Fun fact about mythological Persephone/Proserpina; in Hyginus' Astronomica, there is an anecdote about her abducting a living nymph named Ethemea, which given Hades' propensity for abductions seems usually done with consorts. "[Meropes] had a wife, Ethemea, of the race of nymphs, who was stuck with the arrows of Diana when she ceased worshipping her. At last she was snatched away alive by Proserpina to the Land of the Dead."
A friend and I got curious about what a Hadestown version of that story could be, so we Cameoed Lana Gordon and Allison Russell to see what they thought!

Lana said Persephone and Ethemea are more than just friends, while Allison said Persephone knew Ethemea before she knew Hades and they're besties.
We also have headcanons about Ethemea, those being she's good with birds and takes care of Hadeseph's chickens (there's wall art of them with chickens and it's so cute), cooks for the Workers post-story, and is friends with other Underworld nymphs like Leuce, Minthe, and Eurydice <3
