Thinking about how in Edmonton, Orpheus thrusts his guitar to Hermes before Papers like 'save the guitar!' Then for If It's True, Hermes brought the guitar out and gently laid it on the floor in front of him, giving him the choice to pick it up and continue or not.

Got new Hadestown memes from Vermont, NYTW, Broadway, and the tour!
I was thinking about these Vermont lines from "Cloud Machine"
There’s a crack in the wall / It’s a little bit wider / It’s a little bit wider, that’s all
and jokingly thought that 500 loops later Hades wonders why there's a big hole in the wall, but then I had a more serious thought--Hades keeps building the wall to try and fix the cracks previous Orpheuses made, and it never works because he always finds a way through.
Hades: fill her pockets full of stones; precious ones, diamonds
Orpheus:
Orpheus: I'M BROKE
Orpheus was a poor boy...

We have our new Broadway Hades, Ben Davis! Here he is performing Hey Little Songbird from a while back. Hades is one of his dream roles!

I found a hilarious video from a Hadestown Teen Edition rehearsal where Wait For Me was suddenly played on kazoo.

Just got out of the theater from seeing the Hadestown proshot, and it was absolutely incredible, but I do believe Christopher Nolan went through the runtime of Hadestown, found all the quietest and most emotional moments, and decided to out loud as fuck explosions in the Odyssey at exactly those times as a malicious plot to ruin the moviegoing experience of me, specifically
It was kind of nice during "His Kiss, the Riot," though. The feling of distant explosions rumbling through the theater gave a real cool 4-D experience to Patrick Page's extremely deep voice.
[ID: The @/lesbianjarjarbinks "they aren't actually using pyrotechnics. ray toro can just do that," post edited to read, "that isn't actually sound coming in from the IMAX theater nextdoor. Patrick Page can just do that. End ID.]
This reminds me of an incident in The Iliad where Poseidon made an earthquake so strong Hades jumped out of his chair and screamed.
"Poseidon shook the boundless earth and towering heads of mountains. The whole world quaked, the slopes of Ida with all her springs and all her peaks and the walls of Troy and all Achaea's ships.
And terror-struck in the underworld, Hades lord of the dead cringed and sprang from his throne and screamed shrill, fearing the god who rocks the ground above his realm, giant Poseidon, would burst the earth wide open now and lay bare to mortal men and immortal gods at last the houses of the dead."
I learned that the upcoming Broadway Hades, Geno Segers, has made continuously reprehensible comments and videos about the transgender community, the LGBT+ community in general, and against women and other minorities. With Hadestown as a whole being about 'nudging the needle' forward and effecting positive change, even if it's slow, I urge you to contact the casting directors and ask them to reconsider his hire. Please let your voice be heard.

Red alert! The Hadestown proshot is extending its theatrical run!
Had a sad thought about how Persephone dances every time she comes up top, and Patrick Page says Epic III is the first time Hades has danced in thousands of years.
Urban legends in the world of Hadestown must be interesting, especially since they live with literal gods. Stories about an old ghost train that people never come back from, an old man with shining silver coins, a woman who brings summer and leaves with winter, three old women in the corner of your eyes dictating your life...And little do they know they're all true XD
Calliope and her sisters probably started the songs and Hermes finished them.
On the road to hell there was a railroad car...
I love Persephone's expression in the final panel XD
