cue: in which levi finally attempts to talk to you, albeit awkwardly.
Sweaty palms are absolutely disgusting- the building menaces to society, he thinks.
His neck is getting warmer now, and he is sure that his ears are next to follow- then his face. It’ll be so red he’ll have to resort to hiding in his office for another hour again. And past experiences tells him it won’t be an enjoyable hideout with how Hange seems to be unjustifiably programmed with running in with no announces prepared.
It’s been like this for over 8 months now. And the only few times you’ve talked is with company (Hange and Erwin- sometimes poor Mobilt tags along too)
But today will change it all, he announces: he will attempt to talk to you alone.
Hange was the one who unintentionally caused this surge of change in him: “well, with how you always act, no one would approach you and actually get close to you unless they’re inclined to.”
He decides that the only way to know you is to talk to you; And finally accepts that his lame excuse of a ‘this is a professional progress for team building’ is wearing down each step that he takes towards your office. Each step closer to you.
Shit. He starts to regret it, but couldn’t dare turn when he faces you because of the shirt that was neatly tucked into his pants suddenly propping up- revealing a small line of skin.
He ‘casually’ reaches into his pocket, prepared to lean it over his pile of books- sneakily reading it over and freezes when the script isn’t there.
I left it when I went to shit. He realises gruffly.
“Is there something you need?”
He left you hanging. Fuck that’s worse.
“We should talk,” He finally musters out- skipping a few lines that he “vaguely” memorised and read through the day before (for around thirty five times) when his heart skipped too fast for his own good.
He might start coughing up his ashes.
He shakes his head quickly, freaking out silently as he stumbles over a few words and stutters, (fuck he stuttered), “I realised that we never got to know each other one on one- it’s for,” He stops before he stutters again, “Team-building. Erwin said so.”
He prays that you won’t mention it to Erwin.
