He has never been this interested in others, except for the people relying on him. But you, you were different. He is not sure if it's because of how you masked your pain and trauma, how you kept on moving forward with a fake smile on your pretty face, how you tried to still have hope that his shitty captain would just leave you alone in peace when it was clear as a day that he has no intentions of letting you go. And he has this unhealthy obsession with broken things as he is one. The kids underground who he took in were, too, not that he wasn't also a kid when he took them in. He just couldn't help himself but get drawn to you and your beautiful brokenness.

Sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language! Also feel free to leave comments. I am curious to hear yout toughts!
You wake up in a rustic bed, inside the room of one of the exploration troops. Your mind is a little fuzzy and you hear the voices of two people besides yourself.
" She was found passed out outside the walls, that's exciting! A living human being outside the walls!" said a woman with a crazed look on her face, and a hair which looked like it hasn't been washed in a while.
The other person who is a man, notices that you're awake and approaches staring from above. " Who are you?" I know that voice.....
"Uhhh my head hurts so much. Where the fuck am I?"
Levi rolls his eyes in annoyance. "Let me guess you lost your memory somehow and now can't remember a single thing. How unique. So long story short: This world is infested by horrible monsters that we call 'Titans'. They have a thirst for human blood. But our soldiers have put up a long defense against them, and created high walls that protect us from their wrath. Do you remember your name? Do you have your memories?"
Thank you very much Levi for the little story time but I am well aware of things.
Levi's face begins to get tense, a moment of confusion mixed with a hint of anger is enough to show on his face. He starts to speak, but stops himself after a pause. He takes a few seconds to think before speaking again. "How the hell do you know my name? And for you I am Captain Levi of the Special Operation Squad known as 'Survey Corps'."
"Well it seems like you are the one in this room with memory loss. Do you really not remember me? Well I have to admit it was a long time ago since we have last seen each other. But I am sure the name Y/n rings a bell. We used to work together in the Underground.I was another gang leader. We sometimes combined our teams to get some work done."
"Ok guys I think you two have things to discuss."- and with that she left the room. I have to admit I actually forgot she was even there for a minute.
"Don't mess with me, or I'll make you shut up just like your friends from the 'Underground' did."-Levi is about to say something else but stops suddenly, as if he just remembered something. His face turns to confusion for a moment, then he regains his cold expression. " What were you doing outside the walls?"
" I have been trying to find you for a while now."- he suddenly pulls a dagger out of his pocket and puts it against your throat.." how can i know that you are really who you say yourself to be? And why the hell did you want to find me that much?"
When I finally got out of that shithole place we used to call home, I immediately started searching for you. I have to admit I missed you during the years we were separated. We were so good together. Got any kind of job done. I also have to admit that i miss those times.
I slowly started walking closer to him. " When we worked together,..... lived together,..... shared a bed together.
He seems to get angry but after a moment he calms down and asks calmly ." Are you messing with me?"
"Why would i be messing with you?"-I start walking towards him again, until I stand directly in front of him, and seductivly whisper into his ear. "Did you not miss me at all?"
He is not able to say a word, his lips are frozen and his eyes fixed on yours. And then, finally, in a very calm voice, he manages these words" You really mean it, don't you?"
"Mean what exactly?"
"That you missed me... and... the rest you said..."- His eyes are fixed on yours, as if he's looking at you for the first time... His face still holds an expression of surprise, but now you can also see a small smirk starting to form in the corner of his lips.
"I mean every single thing I say."
"Why? After all these years?"
"You are not an easy person to get close to since you are the captain. It was also difficult to get above ground. But now I am here."
Levi smiles at you, he wraps his arms around your back. His cheek is pressed against yours and he speaks in your ear. A low and intimate voice, so that only two of you can hear him."And yet you did it. You managed to get past all those difficulties and came for me. You really are something special."
"Now that's my Levi who i was so in love with underground as a teenager."
Levi smiles when you say the last sentence. He looks at you with such admiration that you feel a hint of pride. He leans closer to you again, his body so close, face near your ear, he whispers in a low voice. "I missed you too"
He gives you a strong hug, and kisses you with such passion like you've never been kissed before. After a few seconds, he moves his lips from yours and with the same low voice says." I'll never leave you again."
Trust me it is going to get better, also there will be shorter chapters like this one and longer ones too.
After liking your Captain for so long--you finally decide it’s time to confess. // SOFT ONESHOT
𝖜𝖔𝖗𝖉 𝖈𝖔𝖚𝖓𝖙: ~1.1K
𝖌𝖊𝖓𝖉𝖊𝖗: neutral ! :)
a/n -- if this does well I might make a few more chapters about before, during, and after the expedition.....with some ✨ angst ✨
You sucked in a breath—slightly nervous, heart beating quick.
Today was the day you were going to confess, and more specifically, you were going to confess to your Captain.
You were fairly certain that he shared the same feelings as you based on his actions. In the past few months you shared with him, he was fairly talkative, and often searching for you when separated; the reason you knew that, was because your comrades would tell you—all the time about how the Captain would ask where you were when you were gone. Additionally, he had promoted you to his squad, which you weren’t complaining about, but you definitely did not feel like you deserved the position; you performed averagely, if not slightly above average, but nowhere near any of the top-rankers; you blended in well.
Knocking on his door, you quickly asserted yourself, fixing your posture; confidence was key.
“Captain Levi? It’s Cadet Y/N.”
The moment your name slipped your lips, the door was practically thrown open.
“Come in.”
You walked in, placing a cup of tea down on his desk; it had become a daily ritual for you to bring and share tea together during lunch.
Levi brought a chair over, the one he kept in his office just for you, placing it opposite his.
“Do you want hand sanitizer?” He questioned, opening his drawer to get it out—he was going to make you put it on anyway, even if you said no.
You nodded your head okay, and accepted it, rubbing it into your skin—and for some odd reason, Levi watched carefully.
You said nothing, simply looking at him. Once his eyes met yours, realizing you noticed his staring, he diverted his gaze, coughed, and tilted his head downwards in an attempt to hide his newly reddened cheeks.
“I made your tea how you like it,” you said in an attempt to clear the awkwardness that surrounded you two.
“You didn’t fill it with that shit—did you?” He asked, trying to crack a joke. His only downfall when it came to being funny was his tone of voice—his aura always came off as eery and critical.
“Taste it and see,” you laughed, sipping from your own cup. You filled yours to the brim with sugar—it tasted better that way, although, Levi would never agree.
What you shared in common, though, was that black tea was the best—especially when it was strong as hell. It was mainly why Levi preferred it when you boiled it, although, the fact that it was you making it was a bonus.
“The next expedition was planned,” your captain informed you.
“I heard,” you said, placing your mug down. “It’s next week.”
He nodded his head, organizing the papers on his desk. Usually, when you visited him, he was busy. Normally, he would kick people out since it was distracting—but when it came to you, he let you stay. He was calmer when he knew you were near him, safe.
“I need to tell you something.” You stated, making sure to adjust your hair and posture before sucking in a breath for courage.
“Hmm?” He hummed, eager. He liked being needed by you—and you picked up on that quite early after your friendship started.
You blinked—slightly unsure how to word it. At this point, you didn’t want to mess it up, but you were so, so tired of not admitting your feelings—you just wanted them out.
“I like you.”
Levi froze, which you expected, his whole face and tip of his ears changing from pale to blossom pink.
“Huh?” He mumbled, making timid eye contact with you; he was nervous, but still wanting to see if you were serious.
“Yeah, I like you.” You breathed, starting to blush yourself; seeing his reaction made you more flustered than you wanted to admit.
“I, hold on,” he stuttered, placing his papers down quickly, and balling his fists—that were now placed on the desk.
“Captain?” You said, starting to get anxious. What if you had misinterpreted his feelings all this time?
“I’ll....I’ll be back,” he quickly mumbled, standing up from his seat. “I’m gonna take a shit.”
You watched as he left the room—awkwardly stammering out, face still bright red.
Placing your face in your hands, you whispered to yourself, “what the fuck?” You were beyond confused, and even a little offended.
Sighing, you grumbled and rose from your chair; you were beyond disappointed, a slight ache of disbelief and embarrassment pulling at your heart.
You began to walk out of the room—assuming that he didn’t accept your feelings. You didn’t want to overstay your welcome; it was better to give him time and take the hint that him leaving the room meant he felt uncomfortable around you.
As you were trying to cheer yourself up, holding onto your facade that was keeping you from bawling like a bitch in the public hall—you heard quick footsteps, just before a figure crashed into you, arms wrapping around you and a head nuzzling into your neck.
“Man, what the fuck—“ you breathed, starting to tear up; you were processing rejection, in a fragile state, too overwhelmed to deal with what was happening.
You felt the man deftly and roughly press an envelope into your chest—all while continuing to burry himself into your shoulder; raven black hair tickling your collarbone through your thin, collared shirt.
“Read it.” He stated, unmoving.
And that’s when you realized, removing the man’s arms off you—turning to face him.
“Captain?”
He didn’t look at you—he looked anywhere else,
“Call me Levi,” he paused. “and open the damn note.”
You softly took it from him, confusedly prying it open. What was inside—was a piece of paper, with large, bold, un-neat writing, that said: “I like you two”
You laughed and looked up at him. He shyly met your gaze, slightly offended by you laughing at his letter.
“What?” The man breathed.
“You used the wrong too,” you chuckled, placing a hand on his shoulder.
His face grew even brighter in color—and he defensively crossed his arms. “Shut the hell up.”
You calmed yourself, relief flooding over you—you were so glad it was all just a misunderstanding.
“Can I hug you?”
Levi twitched, saying nothing. Instead, he slowly uncrossed his arms and waited for you to move—signaling he was okay with it.
You embraced him, pressing yourself into his awkward posture, slowly wrapping himself around you—unsure where to place his hands.
You took one last laugh before thinking about what just happened—and then opened your mouth to speak.
“I’m glad you didn’t actually ditch me for a shit.”
I love your writing so much 😭😭😭 can I request ReaderxLevi they’re married after the war and treated Falco and Gabi as their owns? thank youuu
A/N: Thank you😭 I’m sorry this is a little late but I was procrastinating so much. I hope you like it ❤️

Lucky To Be Alive
The kitchen was bathed in bright orange, soft strokes of wind travelling through the window, swaying against your frame. There was a distant sound of birds murmuring but it was overpowered by the bubbling of water. You were currently making tea for your husband, just the way he liked. He had taught you his intricate method of brewing tea, so specific that he strongly recommended boiling water on the stove and not a microwave. His tea tasting skills were so sharp, he could tell the difference in taste immediately. You knew because you had tried tricking him once.
You were pouring the steaming water into the cup when muscular arms wrapped around your waist, embracing you. You didn’t flinch because you recognised your husband’s scent immediately but froze in between your actions when you felt his body’s warmth against yours.
It was too warm-the kind where you assumed he had been sitting in the depths of hellfire for hours.
“Levi, why’re you so hot!” You screeched, dropping the strainer as you looked over your shoulder, horrified. You met his silver gaze looking at you in a daze. His lips then curled into a dizzying smile and he chuckled like he was drunk, catching you off guard.
“Why thank you for noticing-isn’t it a little too late for a confession. I’m already married to you,” his words abrasively slurred, his head lolling into your neck and his eyes glinting as if he was actually losing his marbles.
You quickly turned in his arms which were still fastened around your waist and gasped at the sight. The rim of Levi’s nose and his cheeks were stained red, his narrow eyes squinting more than usual. You anxiously placed your hands on his jaw, cupping his oval face. The touch burned your palms. You frowned, your heart palpitating. “Levi, you’re burning up,” you frantically muttered. “I think you’ve caught a fever.”
He stared at you silently for a moment and then his gaze flicked in realisation. He nodded. “Ah, I was wondering why my body feels like someone threw me into a cauldron to cook me up,” he rasped, lightheartedly.
You didn’t laugh. You pushed his arms away, earning a groan from him, which you ignored. You grabbed his hand, pulling him along with you. You noticed Levi didn’t fight your hold and your concern grew larger, realising, he probably didn’t have the strength to disobey. You headed to your bedroom and sat him down on the sheets.
“No, I’m tired of laying around,” he rasped. “Let’s go to the new amusement park you wanted to visit so badly,” he suggested and you looked at him like he had grown two heads.
“You don’t even like amusement parks,” you muttered, reminded of the time when he called them too loud and social.
“Yeah, but you like them.” Your heart fluttered at the softness in his tone. He always acted too tough but was unknowingly the most expressive man you knew.
“I’ll get you some tea. Lay down,” you urged, pushing at his toned chest. Unwillingly, he persisted your motion but when you glared daggers his way, he cowered like a young boy and laid down, his head resting against the headboard. You eyed him narrowly once again, silently warning him to stay in place and then hurried to the kitchen, hoping tea was still warm.
You touched the rim of the handle and flinched at the burning sensation it left on your fingers. Relieved, you placed the cup on a saucer and jogged back into the room. Levi was sat upright, his eyes shut and breathing heavy. You approached him in the blink of an eye, giving him the freshly brewed tea.
“It’s exactly the way you like it,” you whispered, a concerned smile uplifting your lips. He surveyed the cup and then brought it up to his pale lips to drink. You patiently waited for his reaction.
He was silent for a moment, but you could tell he liked it because he was already sipping some more and more. You still waited for his praise. Levi had praised you for everything but your tea making and at this point, it was an obstacle you had to conquer- to feel the taste of sweet victory as you finally marked this off your checklist.
“It’s darker than normal.”
You wanted to smack him so bad. Your fists clenched in annoyance as you rolled your eyes at him; no matter how great of a tea you made, he would always have something to add against it.
Levi, on the other hand, sat grinning as he sipped more of the simmering tea. His inner conscience was telling him to confess the truth, the truth being that the tea was fucking beautiful-just the way he liked, perfect colour, temperature and flavour but he wanted to tease you and watch the feisty glow inside your irises bloom.
You restrained from throwing a tantrum over his lies, all your attention driven towards another issue at the moment: Levi’s health.
“Levi, it doesn’t seem like you’ve caught a cold. Have your wounds been infected again?” You worriedly placed your hand on his free one, feeling the feverish heat radiating off his body.
It had been five years since the battle of heaven and earth, five years since Levi Ackerman lost fragments of his soul into the greatest turmoil of humanity. During the battle, your allies were brutally killed-murdered, yet the whole time, you prayed for his safety. He was in no position to fight but you knew he couldn’t back away. There were things only the greatest solider of this era could’ve achieved.
Levi‘s skin was a canvas of his pain; the wounds were deeply carved into his skin, telling the story of a solider who fought with all his might. His beautiful face was struck in the middle from a sharp blade, a large scar embedded in the right side of his face, elongating all the way to his eye. The mound around his ears was burned and tore off due to immense heat exposure. This was just the tip of the iceberg: Levi’s body was scarred thousand times over.
Levi didn’t answer immediately. He took his time, ingesting the last two sips. Then he placed the cup on the side table and stared into your eyes. “I’ve survived countless wars. A mere fever won’t kill me,” he said expressionless, making your guts twist in agony.
You feigned ignorance like his comment didn’t just dig at your heart. If that was his way of comforting you, then damn he sucked at it.
“I’ll make you some stew,” you told him and stood up to leave but he quickly grabbed your wrist, pulling you back.
“No, stay with me,” his eyes reminded you of the time when everything finally ended, when the rumbling stopped and the war was won. At that time, he didn’t look like he had won anything. Levi had battled against Titans all his life but when, the curse of the Eldians had faced its destruction, Levi’s grey orbs were faraway, in another land.
Your body tightened in concern and you sat back down on the bed, beside him. He held your hand, surveying you, and traced his thumbs along your knuckles.
The silence was suddenly interrupted when you heard heavy footsteps hit your porch. You looked at the main door in anticipation and then the sound of a bike’s ringing resounded. The door opened hurriedly and at first you caught sight of brown hair swaying and then in rushed Gabi. You smiled as she came rushing inside.
“Y/n!” She dashed inside, the aroma of freshly baked cookies diffusing into the room. The petite brown-haired devil was now an honourable soldier of the country.
Five years ago, if someone had told you that you’d be visited by a Marley warrior, you’d have called them crazy. However, after the war it was like living in a new world. Marley, despite their reluctance, were forced to forgive and forget. It was the only way out for the remaining 20% of humanity to not fall into extinction. Intermarriages between Marley and the Eldians grew rapidly after the revival of earth. It took years but things had finally begun to settle.
“Oi, how’d this brat get in?” Levi narrowly stared at Gabi, his eyebrow arched in scepticism. Gabi glared at him, her brown eyes glinting with annoyance. “The door was open,” she muttered.
“Weren’t you here like yesterday?” Levi again said nonchalantly and you stared at him wide eyed, giving him the ‘shut up’ look.
Gabi clenched her fist frustratedly. “I’m not here for you grouchy pants,” she yelled and then turned towards you, ecstatically. “Y/n, I’ve brought you cookies from the new bakery that opened on our street,” the wide eyed girl cheered, handing you the bag of goods.
“I love cookies! Thank you so much Gabi!” You graciously smiled, ruffling her hair.
“I told her you liked them.” You heard a silvery voice from behind and turned to see Falco, against the wooden door, holding his baseball cap in one hand as he smiled. The scared little boy who’s biggest dream was to marry Gabi was now an aspiring baseball player.
“Oi, who told you she likes cookies,” Levi’s threatening voice emerged and poor Falco shrunk against his cold gaze. You rolled your eyes at your husband.
“Well, I-uh-I saw her making some the other day and assumed that she liked them-I didn’t mean to-” the teen stuttered over his words, incredibly disturbed.
“Don’t mind him. Thank you Falco,” you chimed, standing to ruffle his hair.
“But I bought them for you in the heat of the morning-standing in that long queue!” Gabi scowled, her eyes narrowing at Falco who looked like he wanted to jump off the window, feeling the walls of the room were now suffocating.
You giggled softly and placed your hand on both of their heads, ruffling their hair lovingly. “I appreciate both of you so much,” you chimed. In return, Gabbie proudly puffed up her chest.
She then turned, surveying Levi who sat on the bed uninterested. “Captain, why does it look like an elephant trampled over you?” She sarcastically assumed and you almost laughed.
Levi narrowly stared at Gabi, about to clap back at her sarcastically but you quickly intervened. “He’s got a fever. I was just going to make him some stew,” you told the teens. Gabi’s smug smile wiped off as she stared at Levi silently; Falco also stepped closer to inspect the sick man.
Your heart melted as the two watched Levi, concern washing over their faces, making them pale. Gabi and Falco were deeply attached to Levi after the war. Despite acting like they hated him, they carried immense respect for the Captain and followed him around like little ducklings-inspired by his great strength and combativeness. Gabi was so intrigued knowing he alone had slaughtered 58+ titans without modern weaponry that she couldn’t stop questioning him about his experiences. He acted like she was a bother but secretly enjoyed the look of fascination in her eyes after every interrogation. They visited your home very often along with Jean and Connie.
Your raven haired husband noticed their worried frowns and grew embarrassed. You could tell by the sudden frantic look in his eyes. “Tch, I’m perfectly alright. Y/n likes to exaggerate,” he rasped, staring at you for help.
Levi was always so awkward when someone expressed genuine concern for him; he had warmed up to you eventually and loved your concerned nagging but with others, he still didn’t know the correct response.
“Guys, don’t worry. He’ll be better in no time.” You smiled warmly.
Suddenly Falco stood upright, eagerly putting on his cap. “I’ll get the fever-reducer and painkillers,” he announced like a solider on a mission and marched out the door to a pharmacist. “I’ll make stew and some honey tea, Reiner drinks it whenever he’s sick,” Gabi rushed to explain and hurried out to the kitchen.
You stared blankly. Your eyes warmed up. You looked towards Levi and noticed his eyes twinkling with something unknown. You could feel his overwhelming emotions and grabbed his thin hand, tracing your thumb against his skin comfortingly.
“Levi, aren’t we so lucky to be living in this world?” You softly whispered, afraid to break his trance.
His eyes which used to be dull, scared, tired were now brimming with happiness. You could feel it. He looked at you, nodding softly.
As you caressed his hand, his hold grew tighter.
“Do you think they remember?” He rasped, his voice so small you barely heard him. “Every time they see us, do they remember what happened to Colt... Udo... Zofia?” His voice cracked, overcome with the horrors of each war.
You edged close, caressing his jaw to meet his eyes. The eyes were so grey and sad.
“Levi, are you reminded of what happened to Sasha, Hange and so many of your comrades every time you see them?” You asked, making him ponder upon the question.
He instantly shook his head, disagreeing. “No, I don’t because... it’s not their fault.” He looked sullen. You nodded, staring into his eyes so he could understand the truth behind his words.
“Exactly. None of it is anyone’s fault. It was never our fault,” you reminded him.
Levi stared at you, his gaze softening.
Five year ago, he’d have swore he was nothing but a sacrificial lamb for the humankind’s sake. How did his empty existence manage to build himself a home? He had somehow lived. Struggle after struggle, he was finally free. Beyond the walls, there was a paradise, a paradise of freedom which he was sharing with none other than you.
Levi’s lips curled into a soft curve; he was never sure of the right answer. Was he thankful to have survived or did he wish to be rolled up into the destruction, ending his pain once in for all? He didn’t know. He only knew one thing deep in his heart: he wouldn’t trade his life for anything in the world right now.
He leaned in and kissed your mouth, tasting the sweetness of his life. You kissed back instinctively, his touch making your insides curl up.
“I’ve brought the medicine!”
You pushed him away, wide eyed while Levi groaned in annoyance. Rolling your eyes, you stood up, facing Falco who was red-faced, seeming like he had run his way back hurriedly to bring the medicine. You smiled at him.
“Give them to Levi. I’ll check up on Gabi,” you ruffled his hair again and walked away, leaving the tense duo together.
Falco edged closer to Levi, his anxiety topping the roof as he poured water into a cup. He silently gave Levi the cup of water and medicine. Levi silently observed Falco and then took the medicine, gulping it down in one go.
“Captain, do you need to see a doctor?” He hesitantly asked.
“I’m not a captain anymore, Falco,” Levi told him as a matter-of-fact.
All nerves disappeared from Falco’s frame as he heard the audible softness in Levi’s tone. He again stood upright and answered passionately. “You’ll always be a captain,” he responded. “No matter what.”
Levi smiled at the boy’s admonition. When Falco saw the smile, he couldn’t help smile huge too. It was rare to see Captain Levi break into any expression whatsoever; he’d only seen the captain smile bright with his wife.
“Have you still not got the balls to ask Gabi out?” Levi suddenly asked and Falco’s face reddened, his eyes widening in shock.
“Uh- I- no. I tried but she’s so busy all the time,” Falco winced as he tried to explain, rubbing his hand over the back of his neck, embarrassedly. Levi threw his head back, a hearty laugh leaving his chest. The laugh made Falco want to crawl out of the room and hide away.
“Who’s busy all the time?” Gabi and you walked in, your hands carrying a bowl of stew which you kept on the side table.
“Nothing-No one!” Falco yelled like a deer caught in headlights, his voice cracking, straining to keep it together. You looked at Levi who seemed to be smug, his gaze flicking with humour.
“I have tickets to the amusement park,” Levi suddenly announced. You eyed him, confused. “I was going to take my wife if I wasn’t so sick but Falco and Gabi can go or it’ll be such a waste,” he said it like a command, and pulled the side drawer to reveal actual tickets.
You eyed him, shocked. You didn’t realise he had planned an entire trip to the amusement park for today. No wonder, he was going on about it. You smiled softly and nodded. “Yeah guys, it’s the new park. You’ll have lots of fun,” you told them. Falco and Gabi hesitantly stared at the tickets.
“Uh, it’s okay I don’t want to go-” Gabi said.
Levi arched an eyebrow at Falco, hinting at him to take action. The brown haired boy wanted to agree with Gabi, not wanting to discomfort her but Levi’s challenging expression made him abruptly move to grab the tickets.
“Yeah, we’ll go or it’ll be a waste...” he told her and Gabi’s face flushed, her eyes widening in embarrassment. She hesitantly looked around and then replied, “Fine!” She squealed and then the duo wandered out. Before Falco left he looked back at Levi, his eyes glinting with joy and the look in Levi’s eyes told you he was involved in setting up Falco and Gabi.
“You helped Falco out, didn’t you,” you muttered, eyeing him accusingly.
Levi pinched the bridge of his nose and then grabbed your arm, pulling you on top of him, his heat travelling through your body. You gasped as he attacked your lips again. “I needed them gone... to do this,” he whispered against your skin, expressing his ulterior motives and left his marks down your throat, causing goosebumps to rise on your flushed skin.
You were surely very lucky to have this man beside you- everyday-every night-this entire life.

Movie Night Gone Right
The air seemed to be drowning in thick tension, terror bustling in your veins as you held onto the edge of your blanket. You scoffed to yourself: modern technology had really evolved so much: the large television screen amplified every emotion especially whilst watching horror movies. It felt like the heinous predators would jump out of the screen any moment, making you piss yourself.
The darkness in the room and eerie music from the television made it impossible for your mind to gravitate elsewhere. Your body was taut as you held your breath while the stupid main characters died one after another in the haunted villa.
You looked to your far right at your boyfriend, who seemed quite unaffected by the countless jump scares. Even whilst watching a terrifying movie, you didn’t see him bat an eye.
He was either too brave or-borderline sociopathic. You hoped for the former.
“Why’re you always choosing horror movies on our date nights, Levi?” You bitterly muttered, your annoyance visible in your tone. Every weekend, you both watched a new movie and he chose horror every damn time.
Your boyfriend looked away from the screen, his wolf-like eyes reading yours. His dark black hair attractively fell like curtains on his forehead, disheveled and messy.
“Because they’re fun,” he monotonously replied.
His response made you speechless. “Fun? What part of large scale man-slaughter and cannibalism, fun?” You cried, disturbed at his reasoning. Horror movies just gave you vivid nightmares and trauma. You usually spent weekend nights with Levi just because you were too scared to head back to your dorm.
Levi’s lips curled into an unapologetic smirk as he glanced back to the television screen. You glared at him narrowly and then resumed watching the movie. A few minutes in, another terrifying scream erupted from the television and your body grew cold, your blanket now scrunched within your clenched fists.
“You’re shaking,” Levi’s soft voice pulled you out of the gory massacres of the movie. He swiftly scooted closer to you as his arm found its way around the small of your back. He wrapped you close to him, your face resting against his chest.
Your chest ached with joy as you heard his heartbeat, trashing against your frame, sending vibrations through your body. His familiar soapy scent washed over you and ignited a deep fire within the pit of your stomach. Your scent mixing with his made your toes curl in pleasure. You liked stealing some of his sweatshirts to take them back to your dorm just to smell him on you. The warmth of his breath cascading down your forehead sent tingles down your spine, making your heart ache with jitters. It was the feeling of being beside him that gave you pleasure.
The movie watching experience was ten times better with Levi holding your body.
Levi’s arm around your frame never loosened. Your warmth embracing him gave him the unfamiliar feeling of a home. His head was filled with you alone, so much so that he didn’t even know who the hell the main characters were in the movie; a week of pent up frustration from not seeing you starting to quench as your warmth diffused into him, making him feel like he were a part of you.
He started dating you a few months ago and it was crazy how damn clingy he had gotten in just a matter of months. At first, he never intended on letting a woman into his territory but you defeated the strong walls that were guarding his heart. When he tasted the sweetness of your lips, he forgot every promise he had made to himself and felt his walls shatter into nothingness.
Levi wanted to snatch you away from the shackles of your university which constantly demanded your attention, keeping you busy with assignments and exams; he wished to burn the whole building down along with your dorm so you could live with him, giving him the epiphany of waking up beside you. He hated anything which took you away from him. Selfish, yes but he couldn’t help it.
He dug his nose into your silky hair, acting subtle so you wouldn’t catch onto his motives. He wanted to run his fingers down the long strands all day, but he couldn’t. No matter how weak you had him, he didn’t want that side to be seen by you.
If he scared you away with his carelessness, he’d throw himself off a rooftop.
He surveyed you, and rechecked for any signs of awareness but seeing the intense emotions in your eyes, he realised you were sucked up into the haunted world of the movie.
He silently smiled to himself and inhaled your scent. Your fragrance was so therapeutic, a fresh breeze of comfort to his exhausted body. His insides squeezed in joy. You were like a heavenly addiction, fulfilling his needs, comforting his emotions.
“Levi, that woman was the imposter all along!” Automatically, his eyes regained its indifference, the smile of his lips disintegrating as he peeled his eyes away from you to the screen.
You looked up at him while snuggling in his chest. Levi pretended to be immersed within the movie and then looked down at you; he almost stopped breathing seeing your lustrous, wide eyes looking up at him like he were the only one on this planet. His breathing became shallow as he quickly nodded, and looked away from you.
“Levi...” you noticed his heaving chest.
You stared at him doubtfully and then it dawned upon you. His eyes were cold but his body said otherwise. He was so warm and his heart was beating so heavily, your stomach flooded with a mass of butterflies.
“Levi, who’s the imposter?” Your heart was skipping a beat as you tried confirming your doubts.
He visibly froze, your question catching him off guard. His adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed his nervousness like a deer caught in headlights.
“Why're you asking me that? Aren’t you watching?” He counterattacked, hoping this would divert your attention.
You stared at him for a good minute and then looked at the television screen. “Yeah but I was just wondering if you ever doubted that white haired lady. She looked so innocent, asking for help and stuff.” You watched his reaction, waiting for his response.
“Yeah, didn’t expect that.”
Chills travelled down your spine as you realised what had been happening these past few weeks: why he always suggested on watching horror movies; why he kept on asking you when will your semester end; why he didn’t like going out to the shopping mall for dates. Everything started making sense.
“Levi, there is no white haired lady asking for help in this movie,” your breathy voice made him flinch and tense up. You had never seen Levi outrightly display his emotions but right now, you could see the little rims of his ears going darker red, a pool of redness pumping through his cheeks as his bottom lip trembled.
Processing, you grabbed the remote from his lap and turned the television off. Your heart was thudding against your ribs as you observed Levi’s clenched fist.
“Why’re you making me watch horror movies when you don’t like them yourself?” Your voice was so soft and airy, comforting him.
You were currently having the time of your life, watching your rigid, formal boyfriend emotionally overwhelmed and embarrassed.
“Answer me Levi,” you dared him.
He gripped his nape and sighed, his nose crinkled with reluctance. Very softly, his words held you astounded.
“So you can get scared and hide into my arms.” —you almost gasped, your body shrivelling as a feeling of mystical happiness engulfed your chest. Your heart palpitated as you stared at the man who owned your heart, feeling the corner of your eyes burn.
“Why didn’t you just—say so?” You whispered.
He looked up at you, his eyes hinting of annoyance. “Because,” he muttered, his words caught in his mouth. You waited patiently. You would wait forever for him, only Levi Ackerman.
“I don’t want to scare you off,” his white skin looked so flushed. Seeing him, your body instantly warmed up too.
“Levi,” his name fell from your mouth like butter. Then earnestly, you climbed on his lap, your leg on either sides of him, facing him. The bold response made you fluster, your cheeks flaring up as you stared into the grey mists of his eyes.
His reaction was instant. His body became taut under your heat as he gazed into your eyes with a suffocating intensity. He instinctively pulled you closer, pulling you into him. Closer, closer until two bodies mushed into one, not an inch of space left in between.
“Levi, I want to dwell you in so much love, so much affection that you might get tired of me and throw me away,” you started with confessing.
Both of you were new to a relationship; both had fears and doubts hurdling your paths. How much volume of love do we express? How much of love do we need to hold back? Is there an exact percentage? Will holding his hand make him uninterested? Will pulling you into his arms seem clingy? The questions were numerous; answers, numerous.
Levi’s chest was heaving in a way you never expected. His eyes were darker than usual, thunderously grey and passionate with a whirlwind of emotions erupting loose; his body was hotter and eyelids heavy as he stared at you with an intensity he never let you see before.
“I get excited when you call me to pick me up from uni-when you text me to remind me of our date nights, and when you let me see through your exterior, when you let me explore every side to you.”
It was taking everything in you to not run away and go into hiding. Your words were exposing the sides you kept to yourself but it was time to let go. It was time to let him know exactly who you belong to.
“Levi Ackerman, if it’s you, I’ll give up everything to be by your side.”
Your words were cut short as his hand held the back of your head and like a desperate wolf, he pulled your lips into his. Every fibre of your being sprung to life. It felt like all the happiness of the world was thrown at you so suddenly, you couldn’t contain your emotions. His moist lips feasted on your mouth and impatiently invaded you with his tongue. Your audible panting was almost embarrassing but you could hear him struggle to breath as well. While he rendered you breathless, his mouth drank from within you like a thirsty stray dog. His arms around you had you locked, unable to escape, nor did you want to.
As you panted to inhale some air, his lips peeled off your mouth, up to your eyelid; he kissed one and then the other. He was breathing so heavily with his nose, your heart faltered at the sounds. He ran his fingers down your silky hair strands and dropped tantalising kisses down your cheek, to your chin and your nose. “I-want-to-steal-you-away-from-the-world,” he confessed, in between mind numbing kisses. He then buried his nose inside the crevice of your neck, inhaling you shamelessly. “If I could, I would-absorb-you-within me,” the hurling emotions he had kept inside were pouring out like unforeseen rain.
He kissed your neckline, tasting and inhaling every inch of you. “I can’t get tired of you, y/n,” his soft words tugged at your heart, making your eyes well up. You were so overwhelmed by his love, and your love for him that your vision was becoming hazy.
“Levi, promise to share your true feelings with me?” You asked, your hand finding its way into his undercut, you pulled at his baby hairs, making his eyes screw shut in pleasure, a comforting sigh left his mouth.
He nodded, spellbound by your touch.
You edged your face closer, kissing the high bridge of his nose and each one of his eyebrows.
“So no more, horror movies?” You muttered resentfully against his lips. His eyes opened again and a soft smile illuminated his mouth as he kissed your plump lips again, not getting enough.
“No more horror movies,” he promised.
You giggled lovingly and kissed the corner of his warm mouth affectionately.
“Move in with me.”
You almost fell back, his words pushing you over the edge. You almost thought you misheard him but the glint of honesty in his eyes proved otherwise. He was dead serious.
“Uh—are you sure? I can be very annoying and lazy...” You didn’t think this was a good idea.
He cut you off, annoyance present in his narrow eyes. “I don’t care,” he rasped.
“I can also be quite messy and you don’t like mess-” You knew this excuse might make him reconsider.
His conviction remained unabated. “I’ll help you clean,” he quickly responded.
You held back your giggle. A day ago, if someone had told you that Levi Ackerman would be begging you with his narrow intimidating eyes to move in with him, you would’ve slapped them in the face for lying.
What changes could a day make...
“What if I don’t want to clean,” you pouted, deciding to tease him.
“Fine, I’ll clean for you,” he responded without hesitation and waited eagerly.
You broke into a melodious giggle which made him roll his eyes at you.
“Okay, Mr. Ackerman. I agree,” you casually responded and kissed his jawline.
Levi exuberantly stood up still carrying you in his arms as a huge grin elevated his facial features. “Let’s get your things.” He put you down on your feet and hurried to the table to grab his keys.
“Wait hold on... right now?” You stared at the clock. It was past midnight and your dormitory was probably closed.
Levi nodded eagerly. “Right now. We’ll request them to let us in.” Before you could object, he was already putting on his shoes and grabbing yours so you could gear up.
You stared at your boyfriend: he looked like an eager kid preparing to go to Disneyland after his parents promised him so. You wondered since how long had Levi put his inner childishness and love away, afraid of the consequences. And then Levi pulled you to the sofa, tying your shoes before you could change your mind and dragged you with him all the way to your dormitory in the later hours of the night. After fighting the guards and begging your dormitory manager, he successively managed to get you to pack up your belongings and come live with him starting that very auspicious movie night.
They were so in love.
They would have done anything for each other.
When one of them felt down the other would have done everything to make them smile again.
Their love was so perfect.
It was so perfect…….right?
