This here dumbass post is why I always say that American Jews are, first and foremost, Americans.
They don’t live in the actual Jewish country, they usually don’t even speak Hebrew, the social mores and discourse they are used to are radically different than here, and yet they project them like they’re trying to exemplify the ‘before’ stage of the Dunning–Kruger effect.
I actually live here. I know what it’s like to live in a state where Judaism has political power. I read the news and hear all the time about how Orthodox Jews constantly attempt to enforce gender segregation (and, in certain sects, work their way towards a borderline Handmaid’s Tale situation), make gender and sexual minorities second-class citizens (or worse), and uphold ethnic segregation (in some sects even among Jews themselves—keeping Ethiopian Jews separate from non-Ethiopians and even Mizrahi/Sephardi Jews away from Ashkenazim). Oh, and practise male genital mutilation. That too.
And the reason I’m not just reblogging this is that this shit-tier Tumblogger immediately blocked me like the whiny little shit she is. Real fucking mature.
Also, grow the fuck up (you’re twenty-six for fuck’s sake) and get a clue, dipshit: if people constantly tell you that you’re in a cult, you’re probably in a cult.
P.S.: Try telling people you’re a ‘trans lesbian’ in a working class town neighbourhood in Israel (which are often very conservative). Or an explicitly Orthodox town, neighbourhood, or Settlement (another wonderful feature of Orthodox ideology). This here bisexual non-binary says good fucking luck.
