Petition to make the full acronym LGBTAP. Lesbians Gays Bisexuals Trans Asexuals Polyamorous Why? Well let's go letter by letter. No one can argue against LG, right? Well, then comes the B and the T, both have spread incredibly homophobic ideas, and if you don't want to be near them that's alright, but I do not think kicking people out is the answer. Bisexuals also experience same sex attraction and need support. Trans people have a long history with LGB people and their struggles intertwine heavily with ours. Then there's the A, who has also harmed us a lot, but I ask... why should it be treated differently than the B and the T? I don't know if Asexual means lack of feelings of attraction or if it's a spectrum and that's fine, but guys, they're new, they're making an effort to understand themselves and they need support, they too have felt broken and alone. And Polyamorous people also face lots of the issues we do! Many of them are LGBTA. This way, we keep the community about love (literally). About the different kinds of sexualities and ways of loving people. (I did not include Intersex because I believe lots of intersex people do not want to be LGBT+ but it that is not the case let's make it LGBTIAP!)
Friendly reminder that liking boys and girls doesn’t always mean you’re bi
Okay message from me to my followers if you're not interested don't read. I don't really feel comfortable calling myself gay because while I like females the term gay normally makes people think of homosexuals which I am not. I am pansexual and I am saying its okay to call me queer if you are not using it as an insult. I like the term personally over gay as when I call myself gay I feel like I'm getting rid of my sexuality. However I am speaking for myself and not any other member of the lgbtap+ community.
My evolution of gayness has gone from sitting and watching a pride parade when I was eight with my sisters and cousin because we happened to be in town on that day to actively planning to go and participate as part of lgbtap
