“Norton Hears ‘Achoo!’” Another week of pandemic pandemonium and fears seem to be reaching an all time high (overly high of you ask me, but I guess my cynicism isn’t helpful). I appreciate the increasing fears of contamination but if you happen to be in a grocery store today (or to have cashiered in one, like me) you know a certain side of humanity comes to the fore in times like these where bottled water is treated like a precious commodity and the shelves are laid bare of toilet paper. To paraphrase a friend; the TP won’t save you from contagion. However in these times, and I’m far from the only person saying this, we can choose to be caring and reassess who and what we hold dear. If the orange virus that’s plagued us at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue didn’t bond us to our neighbors, a life threatening virus just might...So maybe don’t get on your high horse about germ spreading or cling to puritanical individualism, I’ve seen that Twilight Zone episode once too many times, you won’t like how it ends. 🦠 🧴 🌡 🦠 🧴 🌡 🦠 🧴 🌡 🦠 🧴 🌡 #coronavirus #pandemic #virusalert #lifehacked #purell #purehell #glovelytoseeyou #forwardthismessage #powerdown #givealittlebit #covıd19 #headlinenews #mycorona #loveiscontagious #oped #opinionart #digitalcollage #editorialillustration #goingviral #adineroillustration https://www.instagram.com/p/B9sJZkPJSxV/?igshid=1prlos1dhcu53

We all love a good life hack, right? Many people turn to 3D printing to make small, inexpensive objects, components and attachments to help make things in life that bit easier.
Not only are hacks helpful, but they can be super creative too. Our MyMiniFactory community have created some awesome gadgets for around the house, in the office and on the move to make your life easier. From serious products that will genuinely make a different in your daily life to fun novelty objects that are just awesome to have, here are some of the life hack models on our site.
Easy Reach Seatbelt
This handy car addition is super helpful if you have trouble reaching the seatbelt, if you’re not as supple as you used to be or if you just want easier access to it. This life hack object clips onto the base of your headrest, keeping the seatbelt next to your shoulder for easy reach and does not affect the seatbelt function. It can easily be removed for rear seat use too.
The Cable Eater
Don’t you hate it when you’re at work and your chair gets caught around all the wires flowing down off of your desk? This simple little life hack is very useful to reduce the length of cables and to keep them tidy and safe from being damaged. It also comes in small and medium to house cables of different lengths and thickness. We could do with more of these around the office!
Oreo Dipper
We don’t know about you, but we hate getting our fingers wet and sticky when dunking our afternoon Oreo into milk! Slide your Oreo onto the hook and dip it in milk, making for mess free deliciousness. Ok, so it’s not a life essential object, but a clever tool to aid in your cookie eating sessions!
Tabulate Shopping Trolley Adapter
How many of you use an app on your mobile phone to create a shopping list? Pushing a trolley, holding your phone and filling the trolley with groceries is never easy. This simple adapter has two great functions; it locks into the coin slot used to release the trolley (so no need to clutter around in your wallet for change) and it holds your phone firmly in place while you shop. There are Euro, Pound and American Quarter versions available depending on which country you live in.
To be used with Tabulate.
Egg Separator
A clever mix of NinjaFlex and PLA materials working together, this egg separator works wonders in the kitchen! The main body is soft NinjaFlex, and the front component is normal PLA. When put together and squeezed gently, they form a vacuum which is perfect to separate an egg yolk from the white.
Hands Free Suitcase Puller
We all know that feeling of despair when travelling with so many bags we don’t know what to do with ourselves. This brilliant little device can help free your hands and keep your bag safe too. Once the belt is secured around your waste the suitcase handle can no longer be removed from the device until you remove the belt.

Carry Handle of Folding Bicycle
This carry handle is made to permanently strap to the frame of your folding bicycle, using either Velcro straps or cable ties. It is designed to never get in the way while riding, not to add any unwanted weight and to make it easier to carry your bike. The prototype was made using NinjaFlex for a soft and comfortable grip, but it will still work if printed from PLA or ABS.
EmBrace - Wearable Grocery Holder
For those of you who are still not sold on ordering your groceries online, this handy tool will save your hands from stinging red marks inflicted by heavy bags. Use it as a handle to carry multiple bags at once, or as a trendy fashion accessory!
Down to the Last Drop
The daily battle to squeeze the last bit of toothpaste out of the tube is real, but thanks to this little gem, your mornings will be battle free. It enables tubes to be squeezed efficiently and easily by simply threading the tube through the gap and then rolling it up. You will never have to throw away unused toothpaste again.
Shower Tidy
The designer who made this organiser was sick of dropping things in the shower and wanted a way of organising his products. It has spaces for shampoo and shaving foam, two hooks for hanging sponges and face cloths, as well as a ring from which to hang shower gel. There are holes for razors too (or you can just rest the razor on the top as in the photo). The top hooks around your shower unit and you can use suction cups to secure it to the wall.
ICEE
Particularly useful for parents (and those why find their delicious ice cream melting too fast on a summer day), this product will be a lifesaver on hot days out with your children. Say goodbye to sticky hands! Take ICEE with you when buying ice cream and save the hassle of cleaning it off clothes and hands later.
Hair Dryer Holder
Simple and effective, this easy and quick print will hold your hair dryer securely while you style your hair and store it once you are finished. Simply screw the mount into your wall or cupboard door for a useful addition to your home.
Bear Paw Meat Handler
One to add to your kitchen accessories, these bear paw meat shredders are the thing to have when slicing your meat like a man. Particularly useful if you are making pulled pork sandwiches!
Cycle Water and Banana Holder
Great for anyone who enjoys cycling, whether you are a leisure weekend cyclist or a hardcore cyclist. Keep your water bottle and bananas to snack on only a fingertip away! Instead of trying to strap your snacks onto your bike or risk them getting squashed in your backpack, print out this accessory to help you snack on the go.
Wall Outlet Shelf
A useful tool if you are short on bedside table space, or you need to charge your device using an outlet far away from a resting place for it. The gadget allows you to put a shelf on the outlet to hold your device while it charges. The shelf is angled to hold your device in an optimal, upright viewing position.
Oreo Splitter
Ok, yes, another Oreo hack, but this one is genius! Do you prefer to eat all of the cream first and dunk the cookie parts in milk afterwards? This little life hack allows you split your Oreo to enjoy separately! It’s recommended to boil the print after each use to remove any crumbs stuck between the layers. Use of Purement Antimicrobial filament is also suggested.
And there you have it, some awesome and useful objects for you to print and try out this weekend. Boom, Life hacked!
