Btw this was the drawing I did of @homeskillet_biscuit when I was using the giant Cintiq @ctiaf. Haven't posted it because #Life. I'm gonna go right ahead and disappear from the internet again 😎🌻 #CharacterDesign #LifeOfALecturer #ImStillMarkingStudentAssignments #PlusINeedtoFinishEditingAVlogAboutTheFestival #2DAnimation #ArtByCabblow https://www.instagram.com/p/BwBi5yGhn-l/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=3acqxuajq3gk
Some character designs I did today as part of the Digital Art classes I taught today. Decided to use some of the orginal character concepts, that I've been doodling in the train, to show my students some Digital art techniques. Mostly demos today. (Details about these two characters to follow *in the distant future* 😎). I drew the girl for the second year class and the guy for my first year class. #CharacterDesign #ArtByCabblow #CharacterDevelopment #LifeOfALecturer #DigitalArt #ArtistsOnInstagram #Photoshop https://www.instagram.com/p/BuTy4nQBF8p/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=fd0aoqnkwnnb

Used this as part of a demo for my animation students.
Yesterday morning, as I was making my way to my office, there were two students in the elevator whose interaction caught my eye. They were catching up and just causally chatting about whatever assignments was due or whatever project needs to get redone. The guy then steps a little closer to the girl and gently brushes her hair away. I just thought that gesture was lovely and I decided to draw it when I got home yesterday. #ArtByCabblow #ArtImitatesLife #LifeOfALecturer #ThatAnimationLife #TVPaint #CharacterDesign #Speedpaint

Know Me Better II
After my last week’s blog, I had received so many messages with suggestions for my next blog and nothing could please me more than the response I had got.
One of my readers had asked me to share an incident from my teaching career where the student doubted my teaching or experience. So here it is…
Today I am going to share with an incident from my teaching career that had happened recently. I…

Snippets of some of the feedback that I give to my students when marking their sketches. All the red and green drawings are me. Marking has been a real challenge. I've been asking myself, "How much is too much feedback?" Plus something like drawing can easily become a sensitive matter if it's not managed properly and with encouragement to the students. . It has been a challenge to find the time in between teaching and #CabblowStudios to mark the student assignments, but I guess I just have to remember that God's strength is made perfect in my weakness 🤷🏾♀️. . #LifeOfALecturer #ArtByCabblow #ThatAnimationLife
A vlog from week 4 when I realised that creating rubrics and marking criteria was a really intense brain exercise. I've been lecturing for just over 3 months now so I've gotten better and more comfortable with creating marking rubrics. . When I was studying my lecturer was very secretive about the marking criteria he used to assess our work. This made it very difficult to see where to improve and to know what we were doing well. When he did finally show us a rubric it was a generic rubric that wasn't relevant for all assignments. When I create my rubrics I remember the frustration of this experience and I choose to facilitate a better experience for my students. I've been working to create thorough and specific marking criteria so that my students are very clear about what they need to do and how they can achieve excellent results. . Creating these rubrics is actually helping me to see the gravity and the value of the content that I am teaching. It's funny how all those frustrating times with my previous lecturer have prepared me for this job in many ways. All things work together for good for they that love the Lord. #LifeOfALecturer #MiniVlog #AnimationTeacher #BeTheChange #CabblowStudios
