This is from a few weeks ago but I love what I do. It’s my escape from reality. Hi y’all. I’m The Dirty Little C-Word. New to this but what the hell, let’s give her the old college try. Maybe it’ll help me with my demons? Maybe it won’t.

I’m an EMT-B. I have 2 boys. We’ll call them Bug and Ren. Bug is 9 and Ren is 5. Their dad and I were together for close to 10 years. It’s not perfect. But we make it work. We also have a Great Dane. Marshall!

Figured I’d introduce myself briefly and see where the wind takes us. Thanks to April for the header and putting this bug in my ear to get started. Check out her blog too! @hello-unresolved @theartofmom

Picked up an overnight OT shift on NYE on the opposite side of the county. Let’s see how this goes. 🚑

There’s NO other way I’d rather spend my 8 hours off between my 24 yesterday and the 36 I’m working NYE/NYD than with my boys playing video games.

The past couple shifts have been pretty shitty so it’s nice to be able to come home to these 2 (when Bug doesn’t have school) and feel the unconditional love they have for their mother. Plus, they think it’s pretty bad ass I get to drive the big ol’ meat wagon around. 😂

2018 was a tough one. Nothing out of the ordinary. If things were simple, I’d be convinced it was some sick joke or I was dead.

I battled all year with a demon that I’ve been suppressing for 10 years. It resurfaced with a vengeance and I almost didn’t make it out alive a few times. I’m not quite ready to share that one with the class but I’ll get there eventually.

With that being said, here’s to 2019. Don’t suck, please?

Taking a patient into the hospital (non-emergent) and get behind a garbage truck. The lights on the back of said garbage truck are not flashing in sync and it’s driving me into an anxiety attack.
