After a Century of Progress, Our Lifespans Are Hitting a Wall - New Study/Science Updates
Researchers used six different methods for their calculations and arrived at the same conclusion. The future trajectory of life expectancy remains a subject of considerable debate among scientists. At the start of the 20th century, life expectancy increased at a remarkable pace: individuals born in 1900 lived an average of 62 years, while those born […] Summary Despite using six different…

Lifespans in this BACC
My sim's lifespans (from people to horses) are very long. They're not epic, but more than epic. This is because this BACC is my first ever attempt at playing the sims 3 without "aging off". I wanted to ease myself into the fact that these sims really are going to be gone at some point, by at least having the impression of being able to give them a "fulfilled life" before that happens. Another reason is that I see my sims as characters to write (their) stories with, and that wouldn't be possible nor fun if there would be a lot of time-pressure.
At the moment these are my settings, and they are more or less correspondent with real people's lifestages.
Baby: 14 days, Toddler: 61 days, Child: 128 days, Teen: 74 days, Young Adult: 407 days, Adult: 247 days, Elder: 180 days. This makes the beautiful number of 1111 days of a lifespan in total.
I've got the Elder stage devided in two: Senior (100 days) and Elder (80 days + extra time), just because walking with canes slows sims down so much, that it limits their story-potential on Northeney. On this island everything has to be covered by foot! Also in real life: an elderly person often isn't really old, until things start to roll down... I wanted to have that reflected in my sim's lives too.
So Seniors are old, and have definite setbacks after having been an Adult (I usually give them one or two "health problems" fitting the elder stage), but they still play an active role in society and they can still build. Elders though, yes, get a cane, and stay at home most of the time. They reminisce on life and lend advise, but there's no more building for them.
Seasons
The seasons on Northeney are between 12 and 22 days long. At the moment. Because something funky is going on with this: seasons are getting longer as the number of households expands. I simply did not want some households to experience less days in a hard season like winter, than others. So, if someone moved out, winter got a day more and consequently the other seasons did too. Maybe I'll change my mind about this later on.
A year is about 60 days long. Which means that those 1111 days of a sim's life, equal 18 or 19 sim years. That seems to be okay for me, at the moment. (Still, I do sometimes "gift" them a few days with "aging off", can't help it!)
Skills
Because my sims live so "long", I've cut the progression of most skills down, to 0.25 with NRaas Retuner. More about this in the Skills post later on.
Pregnancy
I also used NRaas Retuner to make pregnancies last longer. At first I didn't and it kind of scared me how fast one of the women was popping out children. A pregnancy now takes 8 days.
Pets
Pets live about so long, that a sim can have three successive companions in a lifetime, so they won't have to go through the grief of losing one too often. Horses live a little longer than cats and dogs and they also define the length of a pet's pregnancy (as you can't devide these between type of animal in Retuner, as far as I've seen).
Also, probably because of playing rotationally, minor pets in cages tend to live really, really long as well. Minor pets in inventories (except those of cats!) are always gone after one or two rounds.

When you give the ages and lifespans of various characters and ages, is that in Earth years or Blest years?
Good question! It's in Blest years :)
Challenge #03816-J164: Troublesome Oaths
During the day, they quietly shadowed Wraithvine's party where-ever the group went, the desire was only to protect them. During the night, they stayed up all night, guarding against any potential dangers. But it was not long before they collapsed from exhaustion. Sometimes, a person could care too much. -- Anon Guest
Wraithvine found Gruhaag on the second night. It wasn't as if she was trying to hide. Then again, it's difficult for a Bugbear to hide in most places when they wear clothes.
Gruhaag wore armour that was mostly salvaged from other creatures. Judging by the patina, it had been scavenged from old battlefields. She hadn't defeated others to get it. Well. Most of it. Some people still saw Bugbears as vermin deserving eradication.
"You are the wizard who does good," she said. "The one who makes others see people in the monsters. I shall guard you when you are in need. I shall protect you from danger. For the better world."

Death Note Lifespans
I was bored so I took it upon myself to calculate DN characters lifespans down to the minute—estimates, of course, I'm not a math wiz.
Something I did notice is that only a few of them have actual, realistic lifespans—BUT this is what canon gave us. Idk if there's a canon reason for it but it's funny to think that Near & Aizawa & Ide somehow found a way to cheat death.
