3/4/17 Confirmation Day
It’s crazy to think that 2 years ago, summer of 2015, I was just a kid who attended mass every weekend. Until I joined Lifeteen at church. I hated it. I was anti social and my mom made me sign up because I had to get confirmed. It’s a 2 year program and well throughout those two years, everything changed.
I woke up Today knowing I was getting confirmed. I was super excited, I had already bought my outfit, I had to read the 1st reading during mass, and it was a big special day I will never forget. So I arrived at church, and everyone is talking, while we waited for mass to start. The homily was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard, I wanted to cry 3 times in mass. Twice during the mass, and once at the end because they played “Burning in My Soul” by Matt Maher, and all the teens were singing it. It brought back memories from the retreats. I then hugged my youth minister after mass and thanked her for everything, and she was happy for me, and she wanted me to become a Teen Leader for LifeTeen, which of course I’m gonna do. My family then went out to eat and we then went home. Everyone left the house and I was home alone, but I felt like I needed to cry. I was expecting 3 tears because I rarely cry, unless I’m mad. So then, I cried my heart out, I couldn’t stop crying for 40 minutes straight. I let everything out and thanked God for allowing me to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. I kept saying sorry for being a bad person but I also wouldn’t stop thanking God. I love God so much. I can’t believe I cried. All the pain that I held in during adoration, for 2 years straight, I finally let out on the day I got confirmed. I love God, and I can’t wait to see where he takes me next.
