Planning & organizing the workouts.

My secret weapon: note cards. 

They don’t need to be too involved: the name of the exercise, visual cues and notes if needed, the planned number of sets & reps, maybe the seat settings if applicable. The visual cues help me since names aren’t always enough. It can be pics clipped out the many magazines, pics printed off the web, or stick figures.... stick figures work just fine. With this system I keep track of the weight used, reps, and and so forth on the back of each card. Clip them together with one of those single binder rings, or some kind of paper clip. Unused note cards can be kept in a recipe box of exercises  I’ve accumulated (organized by body part or equipment needed) THEN i can change up the order, swap out an exercise for something more effective without re- writing the whole list every time. Best part is note cards (and a few other office supplies) are extremely cheap, widely available, customizable and scalable.
