Can we talk about the misogny in death note? As someone who adores death note and loves every episode of it the misogny in it is pretty obvious, lets talk about the female characters. Most of them got killed instantly or have their whole personality centered around kira aka light and as for the male characters we usually see what their thoughts are and their whole perspective on things, as for female characters we rarely get to see that and don't even get me started on misa, she genuinely could've been one of the best female characters if only it wasn't for her shitty ass writing, i wish we got to see more of her backstory and more of her opinions but no misa is literally the whole "manic pixie girl" thingy and that fucking bothers me, there's no such thing as not knowing how to write female characters just say you suck at writing in general but the male characters in death note are well written so that just means the auther has some blunt misogny, and noami getting killed off instantly bothers me don't even get me started on it

Final thoughts on Death Note (THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!)

• I wanted him to get caught the entire time and thank god he did

• do I feel any sympathy for Light? I can’t lie the final scene of him basically being as desperate as possible I felt a bit bad but he also murdered who knows how many people

• how DARE he use Misa like that

• I mean sure she wasn’t sane either but she loved him in her own way and he took advantage of that

• not that that was unexpected tbh

• I feel so bad for Light’s parents like his dad died and his sister was traumatized

• L deserved better

• N wasn’t as good of a character than L but he was smart as heck

• I think Mello didn’t get enough of a backstory

• Matsuda is a wonderful person and I love him

• Back to Light he was literally psychotic I mean “I will become the god of the new world” what is that

• I know that’s his whole character arc but jeez dude get a grip

• Ryuk might’ve been my favorite character honestly

• if you like a good mystery (just in this you’ll know most of it as it goes along but there are plans that don’t get explained at first) and you’re okay with quite a bit of death and discussing death (less gore overall though) you should definitely watch it

Overall I give this an 8/10
