Like I've been talking about for the past few days. I've been working on color theory and light theory. So most of the colors are off of one layer. There are still many layers I'm using but much less than the standard and without the need for most overlay or Add layers
“Light and dark, the space between their bodies a blend of the two. The only bridge of connection…that knife.”
I, and many others, have theories that Elain is a symbol of light. While her book and story is yet to be told, I believe there is a lot about her power we have yet to discover. I think her power is going to bring balance to the world. Whereas Nesta’s powers were of death, I feel like Elain’s powers are going to reflect light, life, and healing—something that the quote above begins to hint at.
That is what I wanted to have represented in this piece, and @/luxury_banshee did not disappoint. 💕 I’m so grateful that she took my idea and brought this beautiful artwork to life. Thank you, lovely, for creating this gorgeous masterpiece! 💙🌸🫶

WAIT WAIT WAIT I DONT KNOW HOW THIS ALL FITS IN YET BUT THERES A SUPER TINFOIL HAT PART OF MY BRAIN THAT’S SCREAMING THAT THE UPSIDE DOWN THAT JOYCE AND HOPPER GO INTO IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE THAT WILL SEES IN HIS EPISODES IN S2 BECAUSE LOOK AT THE LIGHTS: THEY’RE NOT BLUE. and ALL THE LIGHTS THAT WE’VE SEEN IN THE UPSIDE-DOWN WITH WILL’S EPISODES IN S2 ARE BLUE.
LOOK AT THE LIGHTS ON HALLOWEEN IN S2!!
LOOK AT THE LIGHTS AT THE ARCADE!! THESE LIGHTS ARE WHITE IRL BUT BLUE FOR WILL DURING HIS UPSIDE-DOWN EPISODES.
LOOK AT THE LIGHTS IN THE UPSIDE DOWN DURING THE SNOWBALL VS THE IRL SNOWBALL!! THEY TURN BLUE!!!!!! SO WHY ARENT THE STREETLIGHTS BLUE WHEN JOYCE AND HOPPER GO INTO THE UPSIDE DOWN?? (and also HOW DID THOSE LIGHTS GET THERE IN THE UPSIDE-DOWN?? THEY SHOULDNT BE THERE IF ITS ON THE DAY WILL DISAPPEARED)
and then in s4, the light seems kind of blue toned but the whole scene is WAY WAY less blue than will’s s2 episodes.
AND THE BLUE LIGHT THAT MAX CARRIES AROUND IN THE CREEL HOUSE?? IDK THERES GOTTA BE SOME SIGNIFICANCE

My bottles poster at A3 size so far approx 20 hours. This still has a lot of work to be done but I'm over half way.
Thoughts about ambient occlusion:
Okok so, today was a very foggy morning and i - the casual artist - had some thoughts about ambient occlusion, so tune in for some dangerous half-knowledge!
I never really gave much attention to the ambient occlusion thing, where the further away something is, the bluer and less detailed it gets. Because idk i had no explanation for it, i guess.
Today i noticed it very much and had some thoughts :)
I think of it as "the further something is away, the more air gets between you and the thing. And idk maybe the more air there is, the more it reflects the color of the sky and it's particles.
Another thought about shadows:
I see shadows as a result of light coming down on an object. But the sun is kinda optional to the world. It changes the colors of an oject to a brighter, more saturated version. So the part of the object that is shadowed is the base color, really.
Because if we imagine a thing without any additional influence on it, it would be the "shadowed version" of it. And rhis shadowed version has no influence of the sun on it and thus reflects the sky color with all its air particles. Yay.
