Elain isn’t a brat. There is no canon evidence supporting the idea that she is one. Calling her one is a disservice to her character, which is gentle, kind, and full of hope.

If you have to turn her into the complete opposite type of person that she is to make your ship more interesting and give it leverage to float, that should be an indicator that your ship is sinking and, perhaps, that you’re reading these books wrong.

There are two aspects of this whole Katie drama:

No elriel has harassed any of the co-commissioners who were done dirty by her. No elriel has name dropped anyone. Nothing. All that was said is if elriels knew months ago that something was iffy about Katie and her way with artists, then those in her close circles would have definitely also known something was off. Thats it.

Then comes the other aspect: Katie was a toxic horrible person but she didn’t run circles around elriels alone. She didn’t run these stunts alone, she may have been the leader but she definitely had friends who conspired with her to pull off stunts that would provoke elriels.

Katie didn’t become a narcasistic bully overnight. That behavior had been there from the beginning, we are calling out the people who were ok with it. Who were ok with her behavior because she was targeting elriels. Who didn’t call her out for the dramas she created. Who stood by and allowed her to be a bully, who joined in on her schemes or at least definitely knew about them. If thats not you, then clearly, you are not the ones we are talking about. If receipts were to drop tmr and you know your name wouldn’t be mentioned anywhere, then why tf are you getting so prissy.

There is no harassment going on. No one in particular is being targeted. No one is being name-dropped. You are allowed to give the benefit of the doubt to your fellow gwynriels, we are allowed to make insinuations because again, Katie didn’t pull off these stunts by herself.

No one is gaining clout. By holding these people accountable or talking about it - we aren’t gaining popularity points or followers or attention.

“Oh but elriels were toxic long before Katie! But elriels are also toxic!” No elriel has done what Katie and her group did. Believe it or not, most of us haven’t done anything personal or physical to antis. Nothing that crosses the line the way Katie and Co. Did. It seems like you’re all holding resentment over 2021-22. Most of the elriels now werent in the fandom at that time, so your anger and hate is misplaced.

If you were not involved in thse fandom dramas then you have no idea how most of these messes started so instead of telling elriels who were there during that time to stay quiet and stop getting involved, take your own advice as clearly you do not know the full story so why are you speaking on it? Pipe down.

“Oh but I had a good experience with her!” Ofc. She sucked up and glazed you all. Most antis turned a blind eye to how horrible she truly was because it was aimed at elriels. Its giving, “oh but she was…nice to me…so…” you got played lmfao, your experience doesn’t invalidate the rest of ours who did not deserve to be treated unprovoked this way.

Finally: Katie was actually very obvious about her toxicity, you all were fine with it because it was aimed at elriels. But forget us since its clear most of you are emotionally and mentally incapable of understanding elriels are people, she was horrible to people from your own side and when they spoke up - it was shut down and ignored.

Elriels thankfully have no problems going on. We aren’t backstabbing or being two-faced with each other. We haven’t messed with artists. We haven’t pulled off horrible stunts. Its all sunshine and rainbows over here.

But to reiterate: No elriel is causing any form of harassment. Insinuations ≠ accusations. We aren’t name dropping anyone. Idk if people are getting troll asks but block their IP address and you’re fine.

No one is being used as a scapegoat except from Elriels because you guys refuse to understand that you are part of the problem and toxic.

She is the puppeteer of the bullies. Because how is she going to preach about being empathetic when she regularly takes drama from completely different outlets and blasts them on IG? Like the 20 ish people involved in some random beef on tumblr requires you to make a state of the union address to 60k+? That puts her bias in complete control of the narrative and has single-handedly led to the exclusion and normalized bullying of Elriels in the fandom since 2021.

Here’s the truth about the big Gwynriels who are now up in arms about being lumped in with or blamed for Katie:

These people LOVE to pretend to be nice on their public IG accounts. It’s all “support artists” and “let’s empower other women” and “fandom should be fun” and various other performative platitudes.

They would never want to publicly get their hands dirty.

But you know why they loved Katie? Because she was willing to loudly and publicly go after Elriels in the nastiest possible terms, leaving them to sit quietly on the sidelines and enjoy watching Elriels get bullied, all the while still pretending to be nice people.

She did their dirty work for them and they loved it.

The only—literally ONLY—reason they are speaking up now is because it makes them look bad.

DARVO stands for Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. It is a psychological manipulation tactic often used by abusers, narcissists or perpetrators when confronted by their wrongful behavior.

That’s all I’m gonna say on that topic.

Extending empathy to someone who was facing the consequences of her own actions!? She stole from an artist, baited the living fuck out of people & was just downright cruel to elriels.

Once again, XYZ cannot acknowledge that we have endured harassment, bullying, name calling you couldn’t even fathom due to her corner of the internet & she does nothing to stop them. I’d not be surprised to learn she encourages it.

You have no idea the shit people have been sent. None. There has never, not once been an organised attack on any one of you.

And as for condemning the burner accounts - I personally have, multiple times. As recently as yesterday. So have many of my fellow elriels, especially when she first came out about it. XYZ however, fails to condemn not just the burner accounts but the friends she has made along the way who treat us so appallingly.

I will always condemn that sort of behaviour because that’s the sort of person I am. That you don’t, that you perpetuate this narrative that we are the awful toxic ones says exactly what sort of person you are.

Your empathy is selective. That is all.
