I’ve been eyeing the Terra Volatile tarot and Light Visions tarot. Especially the Terra Volatile. Light Visions pic is the black and white deck below taken from the official website. The Terra Volatile pic is from mystiko house.

I keep watching videos of the Terra Volatile. I was just into the basic pack but I found out some cards I like are in the expansion, namely the World. There are some POC but not many, it’s for the most part an old world European deck. Also the King of Wands who is a POC has black sclera and white irises for some reason?? I mean kinda cool, but weird choice.

One problem is I have the 22 majors and 4 aces assigned to my decks and I don’t know what I would assign any additional decks. Pages? It throws my limit-my-collection scheme out of whack. Plus I am already running out of space in my cabinet. I have my four aces decks stacked on top of each other.

The other thing is I am already feeling like I don’t spend enough time with my other decks. I’m also studying the Thoth right now, so for the most part I am reading exclusively with that deck. These two decks I’m looking at are RWS decks. My last deck purchase was the Deviant Moon a few years ago, and I’m not that familiar with the cards yet. There are a couple other decks whose cards I am also not familiar with. I could just say I’m a collector and be done with it though. I know there’s someone on the forum with 3000+ decks.

I just saw the whitest dog on a leash. So fluffy. A small-medium sized dog. Like a little fox.

The other thing is the Terra Volatile deck plus expansion pack and smaller format guidebook is around $140, plus import taxes of between 15-40% to be determined after. It’d be my most expensive deck purchase. The Light Visions isn’t so bad, it’s around $50. If I wanted the tin version, it’d be around $25. The only problem with the tin version is it doesn’t have a LWB, just a pamphlet with keywords. I think I’d want the booklet to understand their choices. But I’ve been looking for a black and white deck for when I get overwhelmed, and this seems like a good choice. Unless I end up thinking the artwork is too busy.

Also, I’m kinda broke right now. I’m already wanting to get those perfume decants and that’ll be $100 and I’m still saving up for it. I could wait till I get my tax return and get myself a deck but I have a feeling I’ll be spending my tax return on necessities. Like new shoes, new glasses, passport renewal, maybe a diabetic eye exam….

I’m also still trying to decide if I like the Cosmic tarot or not. I had trimmed it when I got it and the art pops a lot better and then written the names in gold sharpie. I also changed the court card titles to fit my zodiac correspondences better. Some of my favorite versions of cards are in that deck. It does blues very well. I think I need to use it more to see if the courts confuse me for one. Some part of me is exasperated with the deck even though I haven’t used it much. But if I don’t like it, maybe I can replace it with the Terra Volatile for my Chariot deck? Or I can just keep it…I don’t know. We’ll see.

Another thing (so many things) is sometimes I’ll do a reading with a deck I’m considering getting by going to google images and searching the deck and choosing a random number, ask a question and count the cards until I get to that number and see that as my answer. With the Mary El and Terra Volatile, in regards to whether I should get the deck, I got the High Priestess both times. Specifically with the Terra Volatile, it was the alternate version titled “Intuition.” I took that to mean I shouldn’t take any external action and wait and see before making any purchases. I also asked how the Terra Volatile would read for me or what our relationship would be like, and got the King of Cups. I felt ho hum about the card image and looked up the description on the website and felt fine about it. It made me wonder if I’d find the deck boring tbh, if I already felt that from that one reading. Maybe I’ll keep trying readings with it online and see.

I told my friend and partner about the deck and we looked at pictures. My partner thought it was cool and also wished there were more POC. My friend thought it was beautiful and said it wasn’t his style but saw the appeal. He really liked the alternate 9 of cups in the expansion pack.

On that note, even though I would like the deck more if it had more POC, I’m not mad it doesn’t have more. I don’t think it’s a mistake or anything on the creators’ part, I would just have personally enjoyed the deck more if there were more POC.

I’m kinda tryna see if I keep looking and oversaturating myself with images and reviews of the deck, if I love it more or get tired of it. That was one forum member’s advice for deenabling themselves. So we’ll see.

And I still need to watch videos of and test out “readings” with the Light Visions. I haven’t yet because I feel like for the most part it just seems like a beautiful deck. I’m not sure what its voice is other than being a bit mysterious. It kinda feels like I’m just calling it shallow, but in truth I don’t know much about it.

My partner has the Prisma Visions. It was his first deck that I enabled him to buy. I was tryna get it for him as a gift and kept showing him decks and he smiled at that one and bought it before I could say anything so I gave him money for half of it after the fact so I could say I contributed. Haha. He also has the OOP mesquite tarot, OOP (surprisingly, we just found out recently) Liber T tarot, OOP Spirit Keeper’s Vitruvian edition, and I think he used to have the centennial rws in a tin but gave it to a young coworker while he was working construction.

I wrote a lot. I’ve been thinking a lot of things. I’m tempted by these decks but I also don’t feel too rushed to make a decision since I’m also happy with my collection. I’ve just got a wandering eye. Lol. Alright, bye for now.

I'm so happy to finally be done a fic that's longer than a double drabble for the first time since May and also because do you know when I started Radiant? 15 Jan 2023. It took a wholeass year and nine months to get that out and most of it was done in the past couple of days. And all because of some screenshots of Ryu in the sunset. Writing truly is a fickle mistress.

Also just funny to me specifically: Light Visions now has one fic of every rating colour in it (G/T/M/E green/yellow/orange/red)

Hm. I've drawn less Jack/Ryu art than I thought despite them being one of my main ships for years now. I had a vague idea of redrawing the scene where Jack is on top of Ryu and lecturing him about not being able to fight Zoda if he's dead but instead make him lean down just a liiitttle bit more for a kiss. I'd also like to draw Jack in his Ladies' Race dress sitting on Ryu's lap with Ryu wearing the crop top outfit I gave him...though if I draw anything more than the totally self-indulgent bulge I gave him last time I'll have to put it on my other blog lmao.

I'm also in the middle of finally revisiting Radiant (Light Visions series) but I don't know if I'll actually finish it soon given my difficulty with finishing fics over the past few months. Writing fargments out of order has helped a bit since I can just jump to whatever part I most want to write at the moment but we'll see. Mostly I want to write more of them being unexpectedly emotional again...Jack sings to Ryu on the beach in the sunset and dips him for a big damn kiss (many kisses) I swear these dumbasses can be romantic when the mood suits them!

Stop and Start: May
