I Light Singapore starts tonight! More than just a light art festive, it aims to spark fresh perspectives on the environment and the world around us. A good example and definitely a festival favourite is the #LightArtinstallation by @studiotoer. The "fireflies" are magical and enchanting. It's a must visit! Unfortunately, #fireflies are in decline worldwide. They can only be found in a couple of spots in Singapore now, as their habitats have made way for development. It is actually a light art installation by Singaporean artist Lee Wei Lieh, founder of elusive art collective Very Small Exhibition. Lee's light art installations usually last no more than 3 hours, and are part of the Very Momentary Exhibition series. The showcase aims to celebrate ordinary public spaces by transforming the existing lighting in these spaces into a rainbow spectrum. The artist has attracted a niche following on Instagram for his guerilla art installations.
