Prompt 7 - Restlessly
@jegulus-microfic September 7, Word count 432
Previous part First part
Regulus seemed kind of stunned by James’s home when they first arrived. He stood staring up at the picturesque house. “Reg, love?” James nudged him with his elbow, and Regulus snapped back into the present.
“Sorry,” he mumbled and tried to pick up his trunk.
“Hilly will get them,” he said, pointing at the little house elf who had just popped into view.
“Master James, Master James!” She cried, barrelling into his legs and wrapping her thin arms around him. “Master James is being home. Oh, Hilly is so happy. Hilly made all of Master James’s favourites for dinner. Come, come, Hilly has tea all ready,” the little elf snapped her fingers, and their trunks and things vanished.
James finds himself being squashed into the loveseat by his dad, who then urges Regulus forward as well. Hilly hands them cups and saucers and balances tiny plates with thick wedges of cake on their laps. James glanced at Regulus out of the corner of his eye, and he still seemed to be in shock.
“Come on then, what’s the plan?” Effie asks, tilting her delicate cup to her lips and taking a sip. James’s leg starts to restlessly jiggle as he takes a nervous sip of his tea.
“I’m not sure what you mean?” Regulus says politely. That sly, all-knowing look his mum sometimes gets passed across her face, and James knew she knew.
“We’re all meeting outside Grimmauld Place in a week, and Regulus is going to use the cloak to get Sirius out as the wards will let him in,” James suddenly gushed, nearly upsetting his cake. Regulus turned and looked at him with his mouth agape. James winced and couldn’t look at him.
“And how exactly did you expect to get there and back?” she asked.
“Brooms,” James blurted out. He caught Regulus sniffing his tea.
“Don’t worry, lad, there isn’t any Veritaserum in your tea. Effie figured it out, and James knows it’s easier just to tell the truth,” Monty said when he spotted what Regulus was doing. A flash of worry crossed Effie’s face, and she got up and went to crouch in front of Regulus. She reached up and took his hands in hers and told him.
“Darling, we would never do that to anyone. I know about the rescue because I was trying to figure out my own way to rescue Sirius.” Regulus stared into Effie’s eyes for a second and then took a sip of his tea. The smile Effie gave him filled James’s heart with warmth. He bragged about his mum for a reason.

Bad Luck
Sitting in the disproportionate
Waves of grief you left me
To deal with darkness dimming
Every last ounce of purity
Straight from my chest
While the monsters creep
Up my spine
They are tearing it out in front
While you cross your arms and watch
I almost won my battle
Wanted to be strong
But the truth is I'm the pretender
I was the scared one all along.
Couldn't get through to you
Really tried my best
But in the game of life
I don't resurface
Not even float to second best
Watch them kick me down
You can see it on a screen
I made mistakes
Playinging in your land
Of made up make believe
Your war goes on forever
Contining the loop
If you'd learn to jump for me
I'd be the parachute
Your circle cuts the rope around my neck like a noose
Ready to pin you at the end while they can all play pretend
That they aren't the ones who lit the match to run their roost
But maybe when I'm gone
The world will finally see
How hard I went to try and save them
Just by being me
But I was all alone
Love refused to hear me scream
Cut off connection like opposite ET.
You want to know why its sinking, the sailing ship you made
Because in place of a heart you took the accolades
When you took the wheels of the track
There was no real way to get it back
You're midnight to daylight
Lost in a daydream
Lied to on lillies with sweet salted cream
Being distracted by falsity sweet sugars, blueberries supreme
Eating in numbers, count calories
If you don't remember
Wake up in time
Everyone will see them
Take the light from your life
You wanted a circus
I'm a sideshow at best
You were a clown false made king
Who does nothing but hate
You wanted to see me hurt
Watch me suffer in pain
Are you laughing now seeing me
Wither slowly away
Is this what you wanted?
Just another pawn to discard
Used and abused waiting for solace gullible to play in rain
You pray I don't know pain
Honey you're holding the mirror
Cut me with the shards but still your vision isn't any clearer
You think I want your money
I really have to laugh
Who wants cursed gold
Ripped from pirates chests
So instead you strap me down
Cannon to my breast
When you get red angry
Its just a cut above the rest
You threw me in the ocean
Left me there to drown
While you're the one who walked away
Never to turn around
You'll never know truth
What I would miss
The thing I was craving
Would be....

Time for Tea
Because I'm some concerning level of "commit to the bit" invested, my Living Dead Dolls Series 23 review series featured full personalized tea servings for each doll in the tea party, with digitally-designed menus and actual real teas to photograph and consume during the review session! I put a lot of thought into the themed teas and table settings per esch character. Brief review with links to each original post because I want you to read this deranged labor of love:
Agatha: More bitter than I like my Earl Grey; the loose tea leaves were as unpleasant as I expected
Betsy: Actually very tasty
Teddy: The tea was okay but the scone was a nightmare and a punishment to finish and I spilled a lot of honey earlier so I was Not In A Good Mood while Consuming
Atrocious Name Alert!!!
Jennocide: Possibly my favorite tea serving and concept, though the biscuits didn't match the tea in taste as well as they did in the joke
Quack: Shockingly not as nasty as I anticipated for something so deliberately bizarre and off-putting The mushroom slices were, of course, horrible, but the peppermint improved the chamomile significantly
