Perfect Character Design 101
Step One: Dumbass
Step Two: Electric Powers ⚡️
How to make a great character in two easy steps ur welcome
Thinking about how awesome and dangerous electrokinesis could be when used subtly. Like when a cable touches the ground, you don’t know if it’s charged and you can’t tell because it’s invisible! (Did I learn that from a driving safety video? Yes. It’s scary, but really cool) Like imagine knocking your enemies out without them knowing what happened or having a chance to avoid it. I feel it’s almost underutilized because we only ever see it used in a flashy (pun intended) way lol
Top 11 superpowers by Newman
Ok,
I am bored, ill and stuck at home so lets do something fun, shall we?
Top 10. Those are fun and there’s a top 10 I did before and I can’t find it in my email box anymore. So I shall recreate it here.
Top Ten (eleven actually) Superpowers (that I really want):
11. Elemental Control: Fire
Example: Too many to count.
Why: I’ll be honest here. It’s one of stock superpowers and like the basic of destructive magic. I decided to go against putting just “magic” on the list because it covers waay too much. So lets get the first one out of the way. Why fire? To quote Harry Copperfield Blackstone Dresden: “Fire BURNS!” And this is pretty much all the reason I love and want that simple yet effective superpower.
10. Elemental Control: Earth
Example: Too many again but Earthbenders in particular.
Why: TBH this was one of my favorite elemental powers for as far as I can remember and with this I can get another aspect of “magic” off the list.
Earth control is awesome - it’s Earth. You stand on it every day.
I also love it when a fictional character with this superpower is able to act as if solid ground or even rock were soft and comfy.
9. Ultimate Intangibility
Example: Martian Manhunter (DC), Shadowcat (Marvel).
Why: The ability to become intangible and pass through solid objects is pretty neat actually. What the ultimate stands for is the level of control one has over this power.
Severe drawbacks might be included with the power to become intangible like the inability to breathe while in this state or other nuisances like losing a limb if you’re not paying attention to what you’re currently doing.
Also - the ability to be both tangible and intangible at once - allowing something to pass through your body while doing else undisturbed... Or incurring some creepy and horrifying damage while you pass through other beings.
Also... You don’t need to use the doors...
8. Advanced Shapeshifting
Example: Martian Manhunter (DC), D&D Druids, Alucard (Hellsing), Golden Darkness (To Love-Ru).
Why: Advanced shapeshifting allows you not only to take any form you desire - animal, human or completely alien.
It allows you to control your body’s form on a much more advanced level. You can transform parts of your body into weapons, control your density and - in some cases - even mass and size.
Having this power you’re basically a swiss army knife in human form.
Also - it’d be pretty awesome to turn into a dinosaur.
7. Elemental Control: Lightning/Electricity
Examples: Thor, Storm (Marvel), Misaka Mikoto (To Aru Majutsu no Index), Raiden (Mortal Kombat).
Why: Lightning is the power that has always scared and amazed people. It was the aspect of the gods in the ancient times.
And not just any gods - mind you.
It was always a major deity if not the chief god himself. Perun, Thor, Zeus to name a few.
It is a power to be desired and also one not easily stopped. Fire might burn but when lightning strikes it induces fear and destruction.
It also looks damn awesome.
6. Magnetism Manipulation
Examples: Magneto duh (Marvel).
Why: To be the master of metal. Just that, Everyone who has ever watched the X-Men - either cartoon or the movies - will know how powerful this ability is.
Look around you right now - how much metal do you see in the room.
Now realize that a magnetism master could manipulate all of those easily and turn the smallest of needles into a deadly weapon. Let. That. Sink. In.
If I can ask for a bonus - I want it to make the same sound as in X-Men Evolution.
5. Spiral Power
Example: Lordgenome, Simon, Kittan (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann).
Why: To put it simply. It’s the power of awesome.
It allows you to spontaneously create matter from nothing and... Well... Drill things.
Ok. To define it a little better - it’s the power of progress. The power of evolution that dwells within living beings.
According to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann all natural living beings have it. The point is to be a Spiral Warrior. One carrying great amounts of Spiral Power and able to utilize it. Even if it means the destruction of the Universe.
There’s NOTHING you can’t do while wielding this power. As long as you believe in yourself.
4. Bio Armor (Tekkaman Armor)
Example: All Tekkamen (Tekkaman Blade).
Why: The armor itself might have a few shortcomings and because I fully recommend the series I don’t want to spoil it.
It is however a ridiculously powerful set of bio armor equipped with various bladed weapons, thrusters enabling flight and an advanced (weaponized) flight mode.
The suit itself is nigh indestructible - shown in series to survive a direct nuclear strike with little effect (well - the army had to deal with a tekkaman before, now they had a white-hot tekkaman to deal with).
There’s also the ultimate weapon of a tekkaman armor. 3... 2... 1...
VOLTEKKA!
3. Vector Control/The Accelerator
Examples: Accelerator (To Aru Majutsu no Index).
Why: Ok. I just LOVED this power the moment I first saw it in action.
The man in question - Accelerator - has the ability to control ALL vectors that come into contact with his body. This includes everything.
From attacks directed against him, the air currents surrounding him, the gravity and even the movement of molecules and electrons.
He can affect everything at will.
Or rather... Regardless of will as well.
He’s surrounded by a passive defensive shield at all times that returns everything back to the sender - turning the vector around and empowering the attack automatically.
He has to consciously allow the gravity to affect him.
The ability is so powerful that most enemies don’t even require of him to actively attack. They defeat themselves just by trying to harm him.
This includes people with abilities in the same “weight class” as his own.
And when he does attack... It’s better not to be anywhere near.
I. Want. This. Power.
2. Resurrective Immortality
Examples: Phoenixes, Time Lords (Doctor Who), Hao Asakura (Shaman King), Jason Voorhees? (Friday the 13th), Turritopsis dohrnii.
Why: In case something goes wrong.
Just for that.
IMO death sucks. Being able to heal from that would be an awesome countermeasure.
One cannot prepare for every possible or impossible threat and because immortality always fascinated me - this is one of the top shelf kinds.
No matter what - you’re gonna be back. And get your revenge...
1. True Immortality.
Examples: Ban (Nantsu no Taizai), Vandal Savage (DC).
Why: To have the unlimited time.
Being the ageless, unkillable and endlessly regenerating immortal certainly has it drawbacks.
After all. Who wants to live forever?
Me.
#2 is only my idea of an ultimate safety net.
I want to live forever and see where this is all going. See the future with my own eyes. And... Well... Out of spite. I won’t go down. I refuse to.
Even if the human race goes extinct and everything burns - I will be there to see it.
This is my dream superpower. The one I desire the most.
Lynne LeDerr AKA The Conductor
After having her musical compositions stolen from her - by the very same people who once rejected her no less - Lynne decided it was time to take action against the world’s fat-cats. Wielding an ancient conducting baton with mystical properties that allow her to summon and control lightning, she set forth to rid the world of those that she deemed unworthy of their power.
Her power(s): Lightning Manipulation
