I know I’ve been flooding my blog with SU stuff for the past few days but I’m hanging onto this motivation/inspiration party as long as it lasts me. This time I wanted to try to make some gem designs based on canon fusions so here you have Lightning Opal and (Stable) Malachite! I really wanted to try to design them with different relationships from the ones in the show. 

Lightning Opal is very relaxed and sleepy as her two component gems, Night Blue Pearl and Amethyst (or Skinny Amethyst, like Skinny Jasper), were overly stressed with their individual jobs/roles and prefer to chill out as Lightning Opal for pretty much ever. Malachite is a much healthier, stable relationship than the Malachite in show and her two component gems, Jasper and Lapis Lazuli (or Jaz and Laz) have kinda a “partners in crime” relationship and the Malachite they make together reflects that with her behavior. While Lightning Opal is fused together most of the time Malachite is either fused or split 50/50 of the time. Lightning Opal and Malachite are also pretty much BFFs so they hang out together a lot!

Single Gem Opals! I’m finally able to post them!

I’m only posting Opal, Fire Opal, and Lightning Opal because I want to move on with other projects, as I stated! I might end up drawing Boulder, Black and Dragon Breath Opal at a later date! I still have their gemstones drawn out. If you haven’t already, please check out:
