Ava’s feet dangle over the edge of the roof, the view atop Primrose’s Department Store especially beautiful as night comes creeping up. A slight chill bellows about, as the buildings of the bustling city all come to light, one by one, as they do each and every night. However, the view is especially splendid this evening: after all, it’s the eve of the store’s yearly, blow-out sale. Below in the streets, people and their Pokemon swarm in and out of the doors, a constant stream of activity that brings a small smile to Ava’s face.
It meant for a good opportunity to people-watch; and, an even better opportunity to find trouble brewing. After all, the chaos bubbling now in the city streets beneath can only serve as the impetus for some sort of excitement...
...if only she weren’t still on a shift.
The blonde leaps up, walking along the railing of the rooftop. Her break is probably long over, and yet she’s in no particular rush. “Take these down to the warehouse,” she calls to her Murkrow, who caws at her attentively. She hands him a bag of sandwiches from the food-court, the bird immediately clasping it with his beak. “Bet the girls are probably starving right now.”
“And save one for me, will ya?”
Gleaming eyes, her Pokemon takes off, soaring like a dart through the dusky skies. Ava irons out the wrinkles in her work uniform with her fingertips, dipping into the stairwell and immediately being met with a growing volume of raised voices and discord. Seems things aren’t dying down anytime soon, she ponders, descending several staircases until she reaches the first elevator. An array of customers greet her as the doors slide open, some immediately recognizing her, others unfamiliar altogether. She chooses 'F15′, and begins the descent.
Upon people entering and exiting on the way down, she at long last reaches her destination. However, as soon as the doors slide open, the Gym Leader is met with the howling rampage of floor 15.
“Gross,” she comments, ducking and dodging people piling over one another for the latest deals. “Why the hell did we advertise the half-off sale... shoulda let people find out on their own...”
Trying not to get trampled, Ava dips into her station, rounding the counter and happy to see her coworker handling most of the work on her own. She clocks herself in, and turns an eye to a person who’d only just approached her counter. “Anything I can help ya with?” She says this only half-sincerely; the larger part of her wishes for anything but a sale at this time.
✨there’s a very sun/moon contrast between these two that acts as a cool foil, what with Ava’s natural defiance, and Lacey’s pure earnestness. Even still, they’re both incredibly prone to antics and seeking thrills, both impulsive to a fault. Ava humors Lacey in a way, not only because she’s entertaining, but because she’s refreshing to be around. At first glance, there’s very little in common, but beneath the surface, they’ve more similarities than differences. Lowkey, Lacey’s segments are Ava’s favorite parts of the news; it was where she first came to recognize the foreigner, and proceeded their first meeting at the League. Although Ava wasn’t sure she’d take to the energetic Galarian who was now a neighbor Gym Leader, she quickly warmed up to the fighting spirit behind Lacey’s ambitions, and developed a protective sense she has for all her girls.
Nick would love to help everyone in Norite (and even Agron as a whole!), but he is only one man and can only do so much. Because of this, Nick would love to be able to slow time or extend the length of a day so he could really get to know and help everyone he meets.
☑: something my muse has accomplished that they’re proud of
Nick is really proud of his Gym! When he was attending the Agron Pokemon Academy as a child, battle strategy was never his strongest suit and many of his teachers told him that he wouldn’t amount to much as a competitive battler. Because of this, his fight up the ranks and position as Agron’s strongest Gym Leader is something he takes a lot of pride in.
☢: something my muse is afraid of
Nick loves helping people, so not being able to help them and losing the support of his community, which he loves so much, would be devastating to him and is his worst nightmare.
Ava spends a great deal of time worrying about her girls, especially when they go off for days on end. She doesn’t mention it, nor does she even remotely show it, but she fears for their safety. This fuels her passions for teaching them how to defend themselves; she is, more or less, very protective of them.
♏: something my muse obsesses over
Her hair! Ava can typically be seen combing her pigtails, re-tying her ribbons, twirling the ends around her finger, something. Appearances are everything for the girl.
♓: my muse’s biggest secret
A debilitating anxiety she hides behind her raucous, bratty demeanor. Her fears of never being strong enough, good enough, etc. In a lot of ways, her fears are closely-guarded secrets.
