You’re the only one I’ve ever heard say anything bad about killing Eve. Everyone is always on about how great it is.
Actually, I can see a lot of negative opinions showing up on tumblr lately, especially today, so I think a lot of people are fed up with this show just as I am.
I really liked the first season, it was intriguing, looked great, soundtrack had a purpose (this season it was annoying as hell imo), and, most importantly, main characters were so damn interesting and the way they were written gave a lot of room to the actors to show their skills. What made this show even greater at the time was this insane, obsessive and electric relationship between two female characters that I don’t think we ever saw in a popular show before.
Unfortunately, it just went downhill after the first season's showrunner left. I was anticipating this last season (but didn’t expect anything mindblowing anyways), hoping they take this whole plot somewhere and finally put focus back on its two MAIN characters. But the writers chose to waste time on side characters, boring filler plotlines no one cares about, or introducing new characters who didn't bring much to the table.
It's a waste really. I loved watching Eve and Villanelle's dynamic in the past and there was so much potential there story-wise. The ending doesn't do them justice and is just lackluster.
