i have not read these books and i never will bc every snippet ive seen sounds like a million tropes shoved down the throats of TEENAGER CHARACTERS!! like these are TEENS talking, why tf are we getting shakespearean

also i just cant with all the corniness and how plot lines just are a huge mess

NOT TO MENTION HOW ALL THE BOOK CHARACTERS LOOK LIKE THEY COULD BE RELATED!! hot take but im not reading a book where there are 3875295 characters and somehow ALL OF THEM are white. like okay, its 2000’s in ireland, i get it, ive seen tv shows like derry girls, i know why there’s mainly white people. but even derry girls, a show about DERRY (tiny smidge of ireland), has some diversity here and there. SO WHY TF AM I SEEING HITLERS DREAM FAMILY REPEATED 5x IN HER BOOKS????

back on my bs again sorry but I think a big part of why Beth's whole arc and then eventual death felt so pointless is bc nobody except the audience got to see the change she had. Like nobody except us and two characters that died either immediately or very soon after. Nobody important.
