Im still kind of ruminating about it but like if the goal was to create a hardened "big boss" of timeline b, then s8 wouldnt really have needed to spend the whole of s8e7 introducing zhang luo to us, they could have dropped him freely on us in s8e11 as the VP of the tianding group and that would have been that
but instead we did have s8e7, and zhang luo spends all his time onscreen being told that he's too soft-hearted, and proving those words right. he develops feelings for the man he scams (not necessarily romantic but they sure are Feelings), he tries to take over his brother/savior xpg as the head of the scamming venture and he cant bring himself to kill him. he chases after him to "kill him" but the moment someone else starts shooting at xpg, zhang luo shoots back, in an act that protects him ... and that's all we see him do before the murder happens!
and ok, this was when he was 20-ish, one might say that he can change irrevocably for the worst, but then 50s zhang luo was still out there, saving liu cuimian instead of turning him in, he was there taking their daughter to the amusement park and writing diaries about her giving him a rock... aaaahhhhh
i dunno i think this is a huge intentional message for s8e12. im so sorry for ever doubting the mxdzt team when i first watched s8e12 TT yes i see now the bias for timeline a was real and it was so real that no matter what, the ideals of timeline a can survive
(and ellie!!! the spirit of ellie continues to live aaaaaaa TT)
tuco yelling about how you should never trust the people you love 🥺
Just flopped my midterm like a fish on a deck
So are Twice's songs made to get stuck in your head? Cuz I just can't get "TT" out of my head. 😂
