Sometimes I think about how we did kinda trade everything away with Mikko. And yeah yeah the teams gonna be fine and we have such a deep team now and all of this but. But.
That was our next captain. That was our leadership for the next decade. That was the guy who made the locker room culture. And they got rid of him for a win now cup run where they didn't even make it past the first round. And we can never get our franchise guy back, and fuck man he was the avs franchise! most goals in Avalanche franchise history in a season, third best ppg average in franchise history, every top ten franchise record he's up there. From draft pick, to winning ahl rookie of the year, to leading forwards in points for the Stanley cup win. That was Our franchise guy. He was our core, he was a fucking staple. A great two way player, an excellent playoff preformer, and an amazing personality for a leadership group that gets too serious. Was with the team when they were the worst in the league and was fucking key to the rebuild. And we traded him.
So when people ask me why I have a hard time with the avalanche right now as a franchise it's because I don't understand how a managment team can kick a guy like that to the curb, without so much as a fucking warning. I don't know how a franchise can do that to one of its star players. It has soured the entire team for me. Every time I watch the avs or get excited about them I think, this is a team with management that fundamentally does not respect its players. They do not care about them at. all. And it's gross. The level of disrespect they've treated their one of a kind player with all because he wasn't Nathan Mackinnon. like how they treated him through that trade was disgusting! it was disrespectful! to not just trade him, but to trade him on a road trip with no warning, to give him no grace and shove him so publicly into a situation like that where he now has to immediately go play for his new team and do all this press and his entire life got upended. To a franchise player. He was THEIR guy and thats how they treated him so imagine how little they regard the players who don't get 55 goals and open seasons with hattricks.
I don't want it to ruin the entire team for me, but it has completely shifted how I view that franchise. Especially players they do give a NMC and the players they refuse to afford that to. Absurd.

45 minutes into my hate-watch of silent hill (2006). it's stated that it's supposed to be a "loose adaptation" and "not completely faithful" but it's following the plot and environments so ridgedly that it's failing at being divorced from sh1 and being an adaptation of sh1 😭 how do you mess up that bad
