Tsukishima has encountered more than a few obstacles since moving in with you. It took weeks to find a laundry detergent you both liked, and almost as long for him to remind you to at least leave your dishes to soak overnight if you’re not going to wash them. Deals were struck and compromises were made, and almost every problem you faced in the beginning have been solved.
The main issue, however, is his schedule. Simply put, it’s ridiculous. Every weekday he’s up at 6:00am and out the door before 8. If he doesn’t have practice after work then he can be home before 7:00pm, which means you two can actually have dinner together and maybe even watch something on tv before bed. If he does have practice, he’s lucky to be able to see you before you fall asleep around 10, only to repeat the entire sequence the next day.
Honestly, it’s almost easier when he’s out of town for away games and tournaments, because he always takes the day after he returns off work. It’s the one time he knows he’ll be able to see you in the mornings, and he savors those moments more than he’s told you.
Today was one of those lucky days. The sun’s rays had barely started to shine through the curtains, casting a faint glow through your shared bedroom. He’s got his arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you in close to him. Your face is buried in the crook of his neck, your hair tickling his nose and chin.
He wakes up wrinkling his nose at the sensation, pulling back to see you nestled into his embrace. He presses a kiss to the top of your head and turns his gaze to his nightstand clock, resigning himself to start his day. It’s earlier than he really wants to get up, but it would mean making the most of his day off with you.
Before he can untangle himself from the covers, he feels your hand shoot out and grab his wrist to prevent him from going far.
“Keiiii,” you whine into the pillow. “‘S too early to get up. Come back to bed.”
“Oh?” He teases, reaching for the blankets. “But if I do that, I can’t start my day to spend more time with you later. Maybe you should get out of bed instead.”
At that, he pulls the covers off of you, your light pajamas doing little to protect you from the cool morning or conceal the signs of your lovemaking from last night. The sight of pale purple bruises and redness from bite marks stirs something in Tsukishima, and he begins to wonder if getting back into bed is such a bad idea.
“What the fuck, Kei! It’s freezing, give me back the blanket!” The sudden cold causes you to shiver, enough to have you sitting up and scowling at your boyfriend. You unsuccessfully reach for the covers as a smug grin spreads across his face. He leans down to cup your chin, tilting your head up to press his lips to yours.
He slowly crawls back into the bed as he deepens the kiss, and your fingers slide into his hair to tug him closer. He pushes you onto your back and forces you to look up at him, his body caging you in. His knee slots itself between your legs, spreading your thighs as his gaze rakes down your body, taking in the gentle rise of your hips to meet his before he returns his eyes to your own.
“Now, would you still like the blankets, or would you like me to warm you up in a different way?”
