27 with Marvin also yay not ded
It took everything in his willpower to not flinch when Phantom’s fingers brushed ever so gently along his scruffy cheek. Marvin had learned to fear the warlock in front of him, especially when he was the one in control of his magic. One false move, and he wouldn’t see the light of day.
“What’s wrong? You look so pale.” Phantom purr. Marvin swallows dryly at that, he had been rejecting everything that came from him. After finding out what he really planned to do with him, he had refused to accept anything coming from him. “Tsk. Still waiting for your family to come and save you?”
Marvin flinches at the mention of his brothers. They were coming for him, he jus had to hold on a little bit longer. Jackie was there when he left and knowing the hero he was sure to pick some cluess when Marvin disappeared. Marvin let our a hiss when Phantom took a firm grip on the magician’s matted hair and yanked, making his cerulean eyes connect with Phantom’s red ones.
“You’re making me regret not killing you when I found you.” Phantom said through clenched teeth, his sharp canines showing under the dim light of Marvin’s bedroom. His hard expression softens, and he goes back to looking and speaking as if they were friends. “Tell you what... I’ll give you back your magic, and if you can get through me, I’ll let you go.”
Marvin’s eyes lit a bit at the challenge. A grunt escaped him when Phantom let go of his hair and walked towards the door. He planted himself there and started chanting. Marvin almost let out a sob when he felt the familiar warmth of his magic returning to him, as if his soul was being put back together.
The warm feeling didn’t last for long, it was slowly replaced by pain. Marvin felt his very soul was being ripped apart just like when Phantom took his magic. But this was different, not only he felt it on his soul but also on his mind. Memories of his brothers started to shift, making them look like they didn’t care for Marvin this entire time. A scream ripped out from the magician’s throat as he fell on his knees, his hands gripping at his head tightly as he clawed at it. The sight was pleasing for Phantom, he had him were he wanted. Soon enough, the warlock started circling him. Watching his masterpiece.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been looking for you, Marvin.” He chuckles. “You were the one that was meant to destroy me, yet here you are.” Phantom crouches in front of Marvin, now using his cane to lift Marvin’s face to him. A smile curled on his lips when he saw the broken expression on his face, and how slowly Marvin’s right eye was shifting from the cerulean to bright red. “Right at my feet.”
Marvin sobbed and closed his eyes tightly. It was the last thing he would remember in a while, he couldn’t stop his magic and Phantom’s dark magic from intertwining and playing mind tricks on him. What was real? Who... Who was he?
Phantom stood on his feet and with a last glance at Marvin, he walked out. “We can’t all play the role of the hero,-” Phantom said as he opened the door, “-someone always ends up being the villain.”
And with that said, the door closed shut behind him.
