I just love JinMao. Reflecting on the past two seasons, as much as I want them to just kiss already, is frankly.. sweet. We’re all getting impatient with the near misses, yes, but think about it:
Over the past two seasons we’ve gotten to watch them become so utterly comfortable with each other that there is an almost reliable rhythm to it. We’ve watched the way that they look at each other change, we’ve seen Maomao go from looking at Jinshi as though he were a disgusting bug to looking at him with literal sparkles in her eyes. We’ve seen Jinshi go from being intrigued that his charm doesnt work on her to being so utterly besotted with her that he’ll do anything to make sure she’s by his side and safe. We’ve seen as they get to know each other and themselves on this strange journey, the real them.
We’ve gotten to watch them fall in love.
And because of that, I’m content to wait for even another ten seasons to see them actually just kiss already, if that’s what it takes (though hopefully it doesn’t actually take that long). Because watching two people fall in love as if they were always meant to find a home in the other person’s heart…
Is a rare and beautiful, beautiful thing.
