The mountains call
Pattering waterfall
Early morning train
On the go again
Distant hills
Greeting mills
Winding canals
Nature’s little pals
Peaceful streams
As from my dreams
Snowy rain
Across the plains
Sunny blue sky
Cottages flashing by
Sleepy dwarfed houses
Sensuous nature arouses
Smiling meadows
Peaks of snow
Slopes of green
In scenes serene
Stillness of a lake
From the deep awake
Rainbowed pleasantry

A ROSE
A rose blooms shyly in the garden
Fine wine flows freely in the cellar
The lark sings, nigh to the heaven
Sweethearts say hi, gals and fellas
As the desert longs for the rain
Peace grows strong, hope endears
Love is a song in sweet refrain
to belong together, year by year

Home, Sweet Home
Home, where my heart is
At wherever I am happiest
Let me recall
From my first family outing
To my very first kiss.
Friends, children’s laughters
Butterflies, bees, twinkling stars
Water trickling over stones
Distant church bells, gentle breezes,
Snowflakes, flowers, falling leaves
April showers, and morning dew.
Yes, these are pleasant memories
It’s a lot of joy, gladness and peace
And more - coming from the outside
Truth is felt in my inner self, joy or pain
It resides in the true home in my heart
The rest are just happy or sad triggers.

Memories In Black And White
Wrapped in black and white memories
Hidden, forgotten, suppressed miseries
Memories with roots not deeply seated
Not hot, not cold, lukewarm, ill heated
Only black and white, no grey at all
Nothing in between, no short, no tall
Yes or no, just one out of two choices
Frown or cheer, melancholic or rejoice
What I had learnt or had been taught
In the two opposites or one is naught
Colorless, pale in beauty and beast
Unreachable venue in grandest feast
No vivid recollection, not in details
Plain ambiguity, definitely to fail
in taste, smell, color, or emotions
No show of courage, no devotion
Uncolored, unclean, white, tintless
Faded drab, dull, neutral, toneless
monochrome, walls unpainted
Wobbly weaklings, unacquainted
Uncanny, disintegrated, no spirit
No soul at all, loveless, inexplicit
No wealth, no self worth, no bite

ILLUMINATION
Time and distance
They either imprison us
or they separate us
They are entrapments
we are often unaware of,
each linking to a guardian
that appears as a star,
shining and twinkling,
displaying its
presence of Hope
Each with a name,
unique and personal
to a particular person
When they find each other
a miracle happens,
separate or together,
they sparkle,
out of love for each other,
unmistakably,
with absolute clarity,
in the oneness
and the vastness,
known as
Illumination

Two Princes In The Soul
Two princes, sitting side by side
Both strong, gallant twins
Their names: Humility and Pride
One smiles, the other grins
Rivals between love and fire
In fascination, or in fear
Rulers in a masculine empire
To sing praise, or only jeer
Always a friend or always alone
An honest laborer, a slave driver
Stand the ground, sit on a throne
A cause to unite, a staunch divider
To bless, or to curse
For good, or for a fond
Fill the heart, fill a purse
To be brave, or to despond
Be gentle, kind; be rough, hard
Mercy, or to punish
Touch a soul, just throw a card
To be poor, to relish
So you see, it’s a daily tug of war
Today, yesterday, the day before
Win, lose, hole in one or just a par
The victor is the one we feed more

CELLOS IN THE WOODS
I hear soft cellos in the woods
Harping between the lustrous leaves
Ten violins on a mellow mood
Sharp sound of flutes cuts a cleave
Twigs on branches scrub a whisper
Breezes chime in melodious hushes
Crickets in pauses strum a whimper
Glow worms light up all the blushes
All the lovers smooch on a moonlit night
The music plays as the nightingale sings
Hearts and souls magnify in sweet delight
