As I’ve briefly mentioned, their parents died in a freak accident when they were a young adult, leaving them completely alone. While they will never not miss their parents, the years immediately following the tragedy were an intensely lonely and depressing time. They really were on autopilot and struggled to maintain personal connections for a while despite having to push forward and find a job. Eventually they found friends and hobbies, and later Chucky, but at the time they believed they’d never find a way out of that dark place they were in
