All things considered, this year feels extra apposite for displaying the #Cthulhumas wreath at Liminal Flares HQ. It's quite heavy and always requires TLC and extended eldritch chanting whenever I summon it from storage, but what's a little blood, sweat, and #CosmicDread in these peri-apocalyptic times?

I made this tentacular beast years ago using an obscene amount of hand-painted Finger Tentacles from Archie Mcphee and Lego octopuses, old xmas ornaments, various holiday crafty bits, and LED lights. Oh, and this year I added a delicate paper spider and spiderweb from Moth & Myth to the center.

Episode 7 of the Liminal Flares podcast comes out tomorrow and oh, we have such deliciously queer and mischievous treats in store for you this week!

The next episode of the Liminal Flares podcast, the 4th and final part of #TheYellowSign, is out tomorrow and holy cats, my dears... Despite my familiarity with this story, having read and edited, and then read and reread numerous times, it still makes my heart pound. I'm fairly certain @theremina is pioneering a combination of audio engineering and necromancy here.

All the stops, they have been pulled out.

Episode 5 comes out tomorrow! Part 3 of "The Yellow Sign," in which things are looking increasingly, albeit perplexingly grim for our characters. Our frightful tale concludes next week, after which things take a turn for the fey. Meanwhile, here's another peek at my recording space...

New on the Liminal Flares blog, a look at where I record for our podcast: Conjuring Kindred Company - When Recording Space Meets Magpie Tendencies.⁣ While I record alone (aside from the intermittent presence of a cat or two), I have also surrounded myself with a phantom audience in the form of objects connected to some phenomenal humans whose kinship, connection, support, guidance, creativity, and overall presence each somehow bolster me personally and make this whole peri-apocalyptic timeline richer, kinder, and more wondrous, magical, and beautiful.⁣

Upon discovering that Liminal Flares received a couple more wonderful reviews on Apple Podcasts (and a few more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ratings as well, thank you! 🥰), I momentarily considered whether it's bad form to share them here like this. But only for a moment, because I can't think of a better way to thank you for the support and to celebrate the fact that there are kindred spirits out there listening to and appreciating what we're doing.⁣ ⁣ And btw, we're just getting started! I listened to the final cut of tomorrow's episode a couple day ago and I dare say it's our best yet. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I thoroughly enjoy working on every aspect of Liminal Flares. And yet, I'm discovering that that enjoyment and satisfaction pale in comparison to the feelings I experience when I hear how this show is being experienced by others. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It's a wild and uniquely vulnerable experience to take something I've been working on so intensely and finally put it out into the world where I can't protect it or control how people perceive it. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So having people not only take the time to listen to what we've created (which already thrills me), but then also share our posts about it, and reach out or submit a review and rating - kind actions that in turn will help other people find us too…⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ As I've said previously, I created Liminal Flares because it's something I need as much as I suspect other people might need and enjoy it too. Reviews that speak to that - that make me feel like we are successfully helping people feel seen and valid AND creating a space where anyone can come enjoy these atmospheric tales and benefit from the gender-inclusive language - that all just makes me tear up and melt into a spoopy puddle. ⁣👻⁣ ⁣⁣ TL;DR: A thousand thank-yous for taking the time to post these reviews, my dears. I will continue to share them here and we're going to make a little home for them at liminaflares.com. And I may even read some at the end of upcoming episodes from time to time. 🤍🥀
