me: ok so imagine that by chance you are born a monster, a monster with fangs and scales, a monster that must ravenously consume. And as a monster, you can never be considered human, or among humans, because though you both might be carnivorous, you are a monster, and they are humans. Now, you may take on some human traits— thought, speech— and through the unbearable power you hold, no one can deny you. And as such, you make the appearances of humanity— birthright, marriage— but you are a monster of great size and scale with an unfathomable hunger, so it is inevitable that you must consume and consume. And perhaps there is a human underneath all these skins, something to bleed out until it is rendered harmless, but that would require letting someone get close enough to your inevitable destruction. And you are not human. You pretend to be one, but you do not function as one. Even if there was a human underneath, would it still be human? Could you bring the dead back to life?
