Happy Dracones Monday! Lindwyrm's Nest
Another pencil doodle Dracones Monday! I am getting back to doing 1 artwork a week so please bare with as the next few may all be pencil drawings!
This is a lindwyrm father guarding his nest - a small amount of golden eggs lie on the rotting vegetation, along with trinkets the wyrm found and felt paternal about - crisp packets and discarded drinks cans have a similar shine to the eggs, so the lindwyrm feels he must protect them in the nest. This display of a nest full of beautiful eggs (and 'eggs' in the case of shiny junk) may attract a female looking for a safe place to lay her own eggs.
The need to add shiny junk to the display is known as 'hoarding' behaviour. Dragons favour hoards that most closely resemble their eggs; often shiny and gold, or shiny and pearlescent depending on the species.
