Wanted to share some of my fave Lionesses on my first lioden account (Flowering Pride) bec I love them <3

These are just all the mutated lions (The Royalty). They get special titles bec they are special girls <3

meet wonder (any; commonly referred to with he/they) and ranger (he/him), my @ihopesocomic​ ocs! 

while i’m still working on completing a fullbody ref of wonder (along with his crow companion since they function as a unit more often than not), i couldn’t help but throw my hat in the ring as soon as i’d seen the contest post go up! (i’ll try to get that done for you guys asap just so that if they are selected there won’t be any problems!)

- when the two initially met as adolescents, wonder had been the one with the bigger mane. this was short-lived, however, as ranger’s mane (along with the rest of him) quickly outgrew the other within a season

- ranger was severely touch-starved by the time he’d met wonder as his father had refused to let his eldest be ‘coddled’ the moment his mane started growing in; he’d quickly conflated physical intimacy and affection with weakness.

this didn’t stop ranger from wanting it, though, which was a great source of shame for the young lion growing up. he wanted to both find comfort in and provide comfort to his pridemates he just... couldn’t. he couldn’t justify it in his father’s eyes.

wonder was quick to pick up on this, he’s intuitive like that, and began steadily chipping away at the things ranger had internalized by initiating casual contact between them under the guise of practicality; ‘wouldn’t it be easier for you to just let me lean on you a little, your highness?’, et cetera, et cetera. until the other felt comfortable enough with him to do so himself.

- wonder was very nearly killed by ranger’s father, commander, after he caught ranger and his younger brother, trailblazer, talking to the young traveler after the three had been ousted from their original pride.

the whole experience was very jarring for the brothers, considering wonder had been nearly half the male’s size at the time, clearly not looking for a fight, and that there was no kingdom for him to protect.
