lip studies
I'm learning how to color skin pretty quickly, but lips continue to elude me... :_(
Since yesterday’s Instagram’s post was just an experiment of mine, I thought I’d also go ahead and share some lip studies I did last month on there and on here. All four of them belong to Colin Morgan. I did the top two with watercolors and the bottom two with gouache.
I did these on some scraps of paper I received that I had not tried yet. During the process, I learned that I don’t like this paper with watercolors. I struggled with my layering. The gouache ones were a lot easier. It’s not my favorite texture compared to the paper I’ve tried, but it’s fine. Although it wasn’t the most fun experience, I do like how they came out.
gonna do some lip studies now. can you guess whos lips I stole?
More sketchbook stuff. Lip studies, ink, conté, and charcoal pencil, 11x17 sketchbook paper.
