Sasa beni (lit. “red green as bamboo leaves”) was a make up trend fashionable in the second part of 19th century Japan where lower lip was painted with komachi beni liptint until it looked greenish.
When properly processed, bright safflower red can produce a costly iridescent green tint. It could then be used as high grade make up product, especially popular among high fashion ladies such as Geisha or Oiran.

Many of us want to have our own business in the future but they don’t know how and where to start.
I am Princess Marie D. Rivera, a 21 year old. I live in 43 Katihan Street Poblacion Muntinlupa city. When I was in Grade 6 I wanted to have a business or anything that can earn money. But because we were lacking financially, I don’t know how to build even a small business. As I grew up, it was always on my mind that I want to help my parents, I want to give back all their sacrifices. But it wasn’t that easy, especially since I was just a student. When I was in Grade 11 at Southernside Montessori School I started selling foods like brownies, cookies, and many more. But it didn’t last long either. When I had no class at school, I was the one looking after our store and as I work there, I saw the value of money and it was not easy to earn. Last year there was a worldwide pandemic that changed everyone’s life. From the money I saved and from working in the vice mayor’s office I decided to build a business. The first business I was thinking of is a Clothing line case I didn’t know if I could afford. The second business was the rebranding of cosmetics. At first, I didn’t really know what good business would suit me. But with the help of my parents and support, I decided that the business I would build is a rebranding of cosmetics because this is the passion of women like me. And first I studied how to run this business, what I needed to do and buy, how much capital I needed, how much I could sell it, how much profit I could make.
I started in June 2020. When I was just starting, I was nervous because I always think that what if no one buys, what if they don’t like it, especially now that it’s a pandemic. But I was encouraged because I also wanted to help my parents and I feel that one day my business will be recognized as well. Why did I choose to rebrand? Because I believe that putting on cosmetics adds beauty. I named it Princess Tinte de Labios. My products are Gel Tint with 7 shades, Matte Tint has five shades, while Velvet Cream has four shades. Princess Tinte de Labios is 100% natural & organic, no bitter taste, fruity scent & flavor, water-resistant, no sticky feeling and FDA approved ingredients. During the first month of my sale, very few were sold, but I told myself that was really the case in the beginning. When the month of July came, it really changed our lives and even my business. My mother tested positive for COVID 19. We were all quarantined for over a month. Almost all of us in the house had depression because of what we had experienced during those times. Most of all people stare at us here in our area. My parents’ savings were exhausted because our store was no longer open. And I also stopped my business for over a month and a half. During those times I almost wanted to give up because I didn’t know if I would continue my business and I didn’t know how long I would start. When my mother became covid-free and no one was infected with her, our lives gradually returned to normal. And I resumed my business. It hasn’t been easy especially if your own friends and relatives no longer believe you can do it. When October came, my business started to take off. I was also able to pay for our expenses. I don’t have anything left but I’m happy with what I’m doing. I always tell myself that even if my products are not always sold, I will be a successful business owner soon and everyone will know “Princess Tinte de Labios”.
So to all young people like me, don’t stop reaching for your dreams and just believe in yourself that you can do it, even if others don’t believe in you.

Hey guys! So I’ve been trying to find a new shade of lipstick that will look good with my super pale skin, and some people suggested orangish shades. So how is this coral color looking?? I’m not super sure about it...
